[From another, old roleplay...hope you don't mind.]
As Friday's went, this was not a better one for Priya. Although, you wouldn't see her complaining.
If it were a usual Friday, Priya would be comming home from a day at her workplace of the week, heading back to her cosily cluttered apartment, to get redressed, and head back out to work. Today, however, she had been at two audition...and had been turned away with sequined smiles from the entirely male pannels of each. Geesh...who would have thought that news of discrepencies would travel so fast?
Now- today had been spent unglamorously cleaning out the fridge, and, upon finding how many things she had in the depths of the cold appliance that had grown more cultured that she'd ever hope to be in her life, had gone out for some shopping. It seemed her night would be spent at home...alone...with only microwave pizza to keep her entertained.
But, as Priya slid between a incredibly smelly man and an old lady carring a suspiciously large bag of cat food, she rememberd that the was another choice. As Priya knew she wasn't like the other people muscling their way through the subway with groceries or snotty-nosed children. For she was a god...or...Goddess. She just kept it at Deity for her own sanity. But she was Dionysus- the patron of wine and most of the arts. So what if she was currently unemployed; if she put her mind to it, she could make her ex-employers think they were lobsters.
" Excuse' moi.." She purred, slipping around the smelly man, as he seemed to be looking at her with a rather...disturbing interest. She could go to Olympus Towers...share her microwave pizza with anyone else who was there.
As she turned apruptly, squinting at the barely legible letters on a schedule just above her head, she searched for the next train heading in her new direction, shifting the bag in her arms, so that she could hold them better.
Character
Full name:
James Ryan Coper
Nicknames:
Jay
Age:
16
Grade:
Sophmore
Clique:
Gentleman
Gender:
Male
Sexuality:
Straight
Family:
Abigail Coper- Older Sister; Writer and horse enthusiast; 25.
Ilean Coper- Mother; Waitress; 42.
Jordan Coper- Father; Construction Worker; 48.
Taylor Coper- Older Brother; Unemployed; 24.
Physical Appearance: The most noticable things with
James is, that pretty much everything about him is pale. He is clearly white- very, very white...and he has a tendency of burning very quickly if he stays out in the sun too long. He has light, nearly white-blonde hair (shaggily cut in a sort of left-longish way in the front and top, and razored above his ears)...which makes his eyebrows nearly disappear against his light skin, and his eye lashes nearly white as well. Pale bluish-grey eyes, and a longish face, gives him less manly, more boyish appearance- although he is Sixteen, and in his mind, practically an adult.
Bodywise- he is considerably lacking much meat on his bones. Rail-thin...and rather short...let's just say that James doesn't look all that threatening. He isn't anyways...nor is he the type to want to be. A little awkward...he's not the most graceful thing on two legs, and often he has very visible bruises on his palish skin where he's fallen and hurt himself.
Clothing Style:
With skin as light as James', he tends to shy away from dark colors- or firey colors like orange or red. For the most part, pale greens, blues, and the occasional grey, white and yellow makes it into his clothing choices. He goes for comfort more than style; usually decked out in baggy shirts or sweaters, and loosish jeans. And as for footwear; again, comfort is key. His favorites, would probably have to be a pair of white sneakers which have most definately seen better days. He does have an old, darker blue jacket that he sometimes wears...in the colder seasons.

Personality:
James isn't antisocial; he just definately likes his peace. Often, at his old school, one would find him curled up with a good, or not-so-good book in his arms...tucked away from the world for a while. Not exactly shy- he has a tendency of waiting for everyone else to make a move first; analysis and watching everything so he doesn't go and screw anything up.
He is moderately friendly with people- smiling and nodding, and even with his love of quite is not always object to being surrounded by a bunch of people. However, he does have a thing about being all touchy-feely. No hugs - friendly or otherwise. No holding hands. Not even a hand on his shoulder. He just does not like to be touched- a quirk of his that drives some people up the wall.
Most of his friends, for some reason, end up being girls. Guys...well, speaking from experience, he knows that most of his fellow males tend to think him a whimp. Girls, on the other hand...find a guy who's willing to listen to them, and offer opinions on situations without expecting sex out of it- just for the sake of being a friend.
History:
James' family are not rich. In fact, far from it. Ilean and Jordan Coper met in college- Jordan was already empoloyed, and working on one of the wing extentions; Abigail was a student just finishing up a degree in business. One of those typical high-school romanaces- but not in high school. They were married after a year of dating, and soon, their oldest daughter Abigail was on the way, soon followed by Jordan.
For a while, the family was like that; middle-class, one son, one daughter family; until Ilean got pregnant again, nine years after her last baby. She had to leave her job, helping run a small business in their Ohio home town- and once James was born, and she tried to go back to that job; she found they had replaced her.
James' was never outright accused of knocking down the family, but it stood to reason that things for the Coper family were a little harder after he was born. Abigail nearly had to give up her horseback lessons- had it not been through the help of her teacher; who helped the family actually pay not only for Abby to keep on riding, but to attend Canterbury. And eventually, Ilean got a job bussing tables at a local diner; so all became somewhat more stable.
Now, from James' standpoint...he was never that good a student...unless you were talking about English. His love of reading, and a slightly overreactive imagination as a child one him Student Literature awards by the dozens. His parents noticed something else about their quieter son; whenever Abigail came home for the summer, or later, home to visit from her job...he liked to go watch her ride at the lesson stables down the road. Surely, they thought, this ment that James' had a love of horses too.
Well...sort of, it did...but not enough that he'd do absolutely anything to ride one.
But, being the decent parents they were....without James knowing, the scraped and saved up some cash for their youngest son- planning on sending him to Canterbury; the same school Abigail had attended, and loved. He had to miss first year- as they could not cover the tuition. But the next year, as Jordan was comming from a recent raise in his salary; they annouced to their suprisingly less-than-enthused son that he was going to learn to ride a horse! At a Boarding School!
Oh, Joy.
Riding Expierence:
Riding Experience....well....does family vacations to the Grand Canyon and Riding a Mule, count? Does watching your sister ride count? Does riding on the back of a pony at a carnival count? As far as James was concerned before being sent to Canterbury like his sister before him, he was perfectly happy with watching horses out in his neighbour's fields. He has not been disciplined in anything, but after watching his sister for 6 years, his first interest would probably be in English or dressage, like his sister...but he needs to get down the basics first, of course..
