sydney led breezy down the trail to the pastures. the barn was pretty much abandoned today. the only sounds heard were horses whinnying in the distance, along with the click-clack of breezy's hooves. sydney had only been at canterbury for a few days, and her palomino just arrived yesterday. sydney decided it would be good for her mare to be let out, and be somewhat free for a little bit.
she unclipped the lead rope from breezy's green halter and the mare took off. she ran down the field without a care. sydney smiled and walked over to the fence. she put one foot up and sat down, setting the rope beside her. she wiped some dirt off of her jeans. her blond hair was up in a ponytail. there was a slight wind, but the day was very peaceful. the sun was shining with only a few fluffy clouds in the sky. breezy ran by and tossed her mane. sydney let out a small sigh. this is where she belonged.
ooc;; sorry, its pretty bad.

Jake had turned Ranger out already this morning, and he'd sort of just been hanging the barn this morning, because he didn't have much else to do. He'd just let Ranger run and be turned out for a couple hours, and then he'd bring him back in. Jake had been in the barn office for awhile just looking through some magazines, then he closed up the magazine tossed it on the table, and went back into the barn aisle to go check on Ranger, just to make sure the stallion didn't get himself into any nonsense, while Jake was gone. He heard the clicks of a horse's hooves walking on the pavement of the barn aisle. He followed a good distance behind the horse and its owner, he assumed. He watched for a moment as the girl led her horse out to the pasture beside Ranger. Great, Jake thought to himself, a mare to antagonize Ranger, just what I need. Although Jake's thoughts were in more of a joking matter than being serious. Jake walked up to Ranger's pasture as the girl had just let her palomino mare loose in the pasture next to Ranger's. "Great, Ranger's going to get all worked up, over that freakin' mare of yours, and end up hurting himself somehow." Jake said loudly enough for the girl to hear, he turned to her to wait for an expression or a comment from her. Jake's cold expression from his last comment turned into a warm, friendly smile- "I'm totally kidding about that, your horse and my horse will be fine." Jake walked over to her, and stuck out his hand and introduced himself, "Sorry I should've been more polite, I'm Jake Ellison, and that goofball out there, he motioned towards Ranger's pasture with his other hand, "Is my stallion, Ranger." Jake smiled at her and awaited a response, he hoped she wasn't mad at the stupid comment he'd made.

breezy ran around the pasture for a while longer. then she stopped and trotted happily over to where sydney was sitting on the fence. sydney stuck out her hand and the mare sniffed it curiously, hoping for something good to eat. "no treats for you now. we have to break that nasty habit of yours." sydney said, running her hand along breezy's neck. the palomino nudged at her pockets, still hopeful, but sydney turned her down. "boy do i need to give you a good grooming" she said again, after looking over breezy.
sydney leaned her head on breezy's neck. she sat there quietly feeling the movement of the mare's steady breaths. suddenly she heard someone's quick footsteps and a voice "Great, Ranger's going to get all worked up, over that freakin' mare of yours, and end up hurting himself somehow." sydney turned around with a dirty look on her face. "well excuse me if i didn't know!" she said back. then a smile spread across the guy's face. he held out his hand and introduced himself as jake ellison. sydney held out her hand and shook his. she smiled. "sydney kenyon" she replied. "and that over there" she said pointing to her mare, who was now prancing around the pasture "that is my horse, breezy". sydney was excited to finally meet someone new at canterbury. this guy, jake, seemed nice and maybe he could introduce her to some other people. "so do you go to canterbury?" she asked him and she started strolling back to the fence. she hopped back up again and started dangling her feet once more.
