Prom was only a few days away and Jake still had to head down to the mall to pick up the tux he was renting. The tux was a simple black one with; with the black vest under it and a black tie. All his colors were black- seeing as they matched Ashlynn's dress which was black. He hoped in his black ford Escape and pulled from his parking space, and manuvered his way through town and out onto the highway- which led straight to the mall about 15 mins away. The mall was huge with just about every store imaginable and he'd ordered his tux ahead of time- being that he asked Ashlynn to prom a few weeks ago. So all he really needed to do was make a quick trip in and out for the tux and he was good to go. Although he hoped possibly someone he knew would be here and he could hang out with them. Jake made his way into the parking lot of the mall, and easily scored himself a spot; and pulled the keys from the ignition and got out of his car. He locked the doors behind him with the keypad on his keys and headed up towards the front doors of the mall.
The tux rental shop was on the second story so he easily made his way to the escalators and headed up stairs. The store was also full of tons of girls looking for Prom dresses, Jake smiled to himself thinking of Ash. He wondered how long it'd taken her to pick out the perfect dress. He didn't know what it looked like yet- he just knew that her dress was black. He was excited to see how amazing she looked in it. He walked up to the counter and gave the woman his name and she went to get his tux which was concealled in a large garmet bag on a coat hang, he got a few glances from girls in the store but ignored them- he had Ash and that was all he needed, those girls were nothing compared to Ashlynn. He paid for his tux in cash, thanked the women and slipped his wallet back into his pocket.
Jake then wandered the upper level of the mall for a few moments, scanning the stores below to see if there was anything interesting that caught his eye. He decided that he'd just make his way over to the food court. He slung garmet back over his right shoulder and made his way over to stand in line at the small pizza place, so he could grab himself a quick bite to eat.

Sabella meanered through the mall, aimless as usual. She didn't want to buy anything for once, and Storm - the Andalusian her grandmother had bought for her - wasn't yet at the school. She slid her hands into her jean pockets after tugging her hoodie's hood over her head. Her long golden hair cascaded out from under the hood, framing her tender, smooth face. Her silver eyes flashed from store to store. Her sneakers squeaked softly on the polished floors of the mall, not yet run-down from teenagers' feet.
She went into this store and that, buying a shirt here and a new cd there. Soon, she was carrying four bags, and she was hungry. She cursed softly at herself for missing breakfast and apparently lunch because it was already almost one o'clock. Sabella walked towards the food court, the smells overwhelming her. She almost gagged. The smell of stale fries mixing with barbeque chicken and freshly baked pizza soooo did not work together. She dropped her bags at a table and walked slowly down the row of eateries.
The pizza won out. She walked slowly towards the end of the line, glancing at the menu as she did. She came to a stop behind a guy that looked older than herself and shifted onto her hip, arms crossed in boredom. Her silver gaze slid from person to menu to another person. Finally, she just stared at the menu. Nothing really caught her eye. So she decided to ask the guy ahead of her for advice.
"'Scuse me, but do you recommend anything?" Her English accent was soft and polite, her silver eyes wide.

Jake heard soft footsteps coming up behind him, and turned to see who was behind him. It was a teenage girl- around his age or younger. He gave a small smile- just a friendly smile; nothing hinting at any type of flirting or anything like that. Then he turned his attention back to the menu and waited for the line to move forward again, so that he could order his lunch- he hadn't realized it before but he was starving. As he waited he shifted the garmet bag with his Prom tux in it to the other shoulder. Then he heard the voice of the girl who had been standing behind him, she asked if he recommended anything- he usually just got pizza so other than that he didn't know what was good. Usually I just got a big slice of pizza, it's really good. He said to her smiling slightly before moving up to the counter to order his pizza, once he'd given his order he moved down the line- he glanced at the girl- smiling just slightly and said- by the way, I'm Jake.

Sabella let her eyes stray to his large bag. She tilted her head, just slightly, before reverting her eyes back to the menu as he mentioned that the pizza was good. Well, then, she'd probably get a slice of taco pizza and garlic knots, with a rootbeer. She slid off her hood and her long, pale gold curls cascaded over her shoulders as she shook them away from her eyes. She reached the counter and spoke softly. She didn't like how foreign her accent seemed among all of the Cali inhabitants. London can do that to you, though, when you live there for a majority of your life.
"A slice of taco pizza, garlic knots, and a rootbeer. Please." The please was just an afterthought, a manner ground into her by her parents before their untimely deaths.
She moved down the counter, standing beside the young man once again. He seemed hesitant to talk to her. What, did he think she bit? A soft smile formed on her face and she folded her arms calmly across her chest. She glanced sideways at him, wondering why he was acting the way he was. It wasn't like she was going to try to jam her tongue down his throat. A. He wasn't her type. B. Uhm, EWW? She smirked.
"I'm Sabella."

Jake stood at the end of the long counter and waited for the waiter to hand him his tray of food. He ordered himself a large slice of pizza and a large pepsi. When the girl moved down the counter and introduced herself as Sabella- he gave a small friendly smile in her direction and added; That's a pretty name. The waiter handed Jake his food and he moved away from the counter and adjusted the garmet bag that hung over his shoulder, and balanced his tray of food in his hands. He waited for the other girl to get her food, before they headed away. Jake wondered if the girl was her with anyone else- otherwise maybe they could sit and eat lunch together. Being that Jake didn't totally want to eat by himself. So- do you go to canterbury? He asked her- he assumed that most of the younger students in this california area, went to CA. But he just wanted to ask and make sure.

Sabella picked up a straw and a few napkins as she accepted her tray of food. She walked slowly towards her table and paused as she glanced at the motionless Jake. She lifted a brow and smiled slowly. "It's a wierd name, is what it is. Mum decided that her daughters deserved only the finest in unusual names." She shrugged. She liked her name and didn't mind its strangeness. "Yeah, I'm a sophmore at Canterbury. You?" She glanced at her table and back at Jake. "If you want, you can sit at my table. It's better than eating alone, right?"

jake listened closely as sabella talked about how her mother insisted on naming them the finest of unusaul names, jake couldn't help but smile at her. jake responded to her question of if he went to CA; yeah- i'm a senior this year, he told her with a smile. As Sabella offered that Jake could come sit at her table, and that it was better than sitting alone- like he'd been thinking before. yeah-, thanks. he said smiling lightly in her direction. He followed her to her table, where he could see she'd already been shopping as numerous bags rested on the chairs. Jake set his tray of food down on the table- then carefully laid his garmet bag with his tux in it over the back of one of the chairs. Sabella probably thought that he was kinda wierd for carrying around a garmet bag like that- looking like it had a dress inside, ha. Jake sat in the seat across from her and took a long sip from his pepsi- before asking her, So how long have you been at Canterbury?
