Mara didn't slow when she heard him call out for her to wait. In fact, she sped up. She was tired, cold, and didn't want to have to deal with some guy who thought he was better than her. Moments before, she'd enjoyed his company. Now, he'd called her a demon child. She didn't want to face the fact that it hit home. A solitary tear slid down her cheek, but Mara was always good with hiding her emotions, so she wiped it up and turned sharply, arms crossed.
"I leave when I want to, Mr. Hawke, explanation or not. I'm not some impudent little girl who needs to explain herself. Don't worry about us working together - we move in two different circles. As for out of work, I don't see why we would interact."
She sighed, running a hand over her face. "I don't mean that. It's been a long day, what with practice and Shawn..." Her voice caught. She set her jaw. "I'm sorry for my behavior. Maybe I am just an impudent little girl." She turned away from him and started walking back towards the school.
Shawn had called her earlier in the day. It was one of the reasons Mara had gone out for a jog instead of a ride on the bike. She knew she was too upset to go for a ride, for she'd probably end up crashing because she was hitting nearly 200 mph. Shawn, Mara's older brother, and herself were still on rocky terms. His call had been a surprise. His news even more of a surprise. Her mother was very ill. She'd been in the hospital for nearly a month. The specifics were cloudy, but Shawn wanted Mara to fly to New York to be with their mother, who seemed to be on Death's doorstep.
Mara loathed her mother, but that hatred only intensified her emotional response to hearing that her mother might die very, very soon. Her run had helped clear her mind, but Nathaniel's words about being a demon child, about a child back home, about it being past her bedtime - all had linked back to her mother. She knew it wasn't intentional on his part, but when she was upset she put up the walls once again and became a hateful bitch. It was one of her many flaws.
character
full name: Sabella Syrianna Faye
nicknames: Sabe, Bella, S, B, Anna, Faye
age: 16
grade: sophmore
clique: sweetheart
gender: female
sexuality: straight
family:
James Robert Michael Faye - 19 [brother]
Kateri Faith Anastasia Faye - 17 [sister]
Nina Catherine Isabella Schofield - 53 [grandmother]
physical appearance: [at least two paragraphs. tell us how they look. no perfect people. everyone has some flaws.]
Sabella has pale golden curls that reach to the center of her shoulders. Her silver eyes are made all the more interesting by the flecks of gold and emerald color that you can see if you look closely and are accented by thick lashes. Her skin is smooth and unblemished. Her lips are plump and usually accented with pale pink lipgloss. She has a softly stubborn chin and a graceful neck, with a prominent collarbone. Sabella stands at about five feet seven inches, her legs long and strong from years of exercise and riding.
Sabella is gifted/cursed with a large supply of facial expressions. It's very easy to tell what she's thinking most of the time. Her eyes are very expressive, and her lips - that can curl seductively or purse in annoyance within two seconds of eachother - only add to the gift/curse. She also has dimples - two, in fact - that are revealed with even the slightest smile. Apart from her expressions, Sabella has a horizontal scar at her hairline, slightly hidden by her long curls.
clothing style: [at least one paragraph. how do they dress?]
Sabella usually only wears the best. She loves to shop, whether it be for purses and shoes and clothes or a good book and notebook. She has a range of sneakers, heels, and sandles. She has a purse/bag for every color. Her jeans are artfully ripped, decorated, or plain hiphuggers. They tend to be loose from the knee down, and a bit tighter from there up. Her shirts range from camis to tanks to tees, as well as halters and long-sleeved shirts. She can dress casual or fancy or somewhere inbetween at a moments notice.

personality: [at least two paragraphs. nothing too perfect please. everyone has flaws]
Sabella is usually a calm young lady, but she hides a fiercly passionate side. Sabella is incredibly, fiercly loyal to her friends. She's a friend that anyone would like to have. She won't judge someone by their looks, but rub her the wrong way and a cold shoulder will be your reward. I mean total and complete silence. She won’t acknowledge you. At all. You’re in her way? She’ll try and walk right through you.
Sabella's always been a bit of a quiet dreamer. Her hopes and dreams were once many, but have dwindled to only a few over the years. At one time, she would tell anyone her dreams, her goals. But after a number of losses, Mara pulled into herself. She didn't let too much out to people she knew, but even if you were her best friend she would usually keep her thoughts to herself.
history: [at least three paragraphs. tell us everything]
Sabella grew up in London. She went to the best schools, had the best friends, knew the trends, knew what went on almost as soon as it happened. Even at her young age, she was immensly popular. But when Sabella was six, her mother had a premature birth, and Isabella died three weeks later. Sabella's mother became depressed at the loss of a second child, for she'd already lost a boy - Jacob - between James and Kateri. Sabella's mother died of an overdose of depression pills when she was seven. Sabella's father died less than a year later in a car crash, leaving her with only her brother and sister. Together, they were shipped to the Americas.
Sabella, James, and Kateri went to live with their grandmother, Nina [nine-ah] Catherine, in California. Nina is relatively young for a grandmother. A loving home starts to bring the three siblings closer together, their relationship having been torn by the deaths. Old money runs in the family, and Nina Catherine has a large portion of the sum. She treats the kids to anything they want, and soon introduces Sabella to the art of horseback riding. Sabella is nine at this time, and quickly falls in love with being on a horse's back. When Sabella turned 15, she was still going to public school.
Sabella turned 16 on a lovely day on August 2nd. Unbeknownst to her, Nine Catherine had payed for Sabella to go to Canterbury. Also, she'd bought Sabella a beautiful Andalusian mare whose show name [Storm on the Horizon] seemed to fit Sabella. Now, Sabella is stepping onto a new campus, and into a new life.
riding expierence: [at least one paragraph. talk about years riding, past horses, disciplines, etc.]
Sabella started learning how to ride when she turned nine. She rode avidly, almost everyday after school. Her main partner - Raine - was a beautiful Friesian mare, and Sabella excelled on her back. She learned English, and dressage became her dominant thingy. [can't remeber the word at this time] She's now been riding for nearly seven years.
