Teegan had already been out for a ride on Bella this week, so today she was just giving her the day off- because she didn't want to work her to hard in her first week her at Canterbury. Teegan led the dapple grey mare outside to the back pastures, the day was perfect no clouds in the sky, and the sun was shining and the weather was perfect; not to hot not to cold. This was her favorite time of year, and the best weather to ride it. She had a lime green halter, and black lead rope on the calm mustang mare as she led her to the back of the barn- once they were outside, Teegan halted the mare and held on to a patch of the mare's mane at her withers and sung her self over onto the mares back. She definitely shouldn't be doing this- as she wasn't wearing a helmet; and no saddle or bridle. Oh well- she liked to be a little reckless now and again. She took the mare at a slow trot; sitting easily on her back, as then strode down the alley of grass lined with pastures on the right side. A few horses here and there were turned out but for the most part it was very quite- no people, just the sounds of nature.
Teegan then spotted another horse in the pasture up ahead right next to Bella's pasture- and noticed a teenage boy in with the horse- he looked familiar; sure enough it was Caleb. She rode up to the fence and hopped off Bella; she took the lead rope from her neck and held it in her hand, she leaned against the fence and Bella happily stuck her face along side Teegan's she watched caleb for a moment before calling out. Hey! Didn't expect to see you down here, she said with a friendly smile, she had really become good friends with Caleb- and she felt almost like he was a brother to her the way they got along. As he looked up at her she noticed his expression seemed glum and unhappy. Hey- is something wrong? she asked him- she hoped that Caleb knew he could talk to her about anything, she was always there to listen.

Caleb lead Hershey to a pasture, lightly running a hand over the gelding's neck. The horse lightly butted his muzzle against Caleb's shoulder, as if sensing the young man's distress. Caleb patted Hershey lightly. Hearing the sound of hooves, Caleb glanced over his shoulder. He watched the girl, a bit annoyed until he realized it was Teegan. He moved away from Hershey to greet her by the fence. He attempted a smile but could tell he'd failed. Tee, what are you talking about? I'm fine. He stared at her, willing her to drop it.

As Caleb told Teegan that he was fine, and had no idea what she was talking about. Teegan stared at him- she knew something was up, he didn't seem like his usual self, and he definitely didn't seem like the same guy she'd meet last week at the beach, who had a thrill for an adrenline rush- he just looked and seemed different today. She leaned against the fence her blonde curly wavy hair blowing gently around her face, Bella stood patiently beside her and when Caleb approached them- she nudged her head forward to see if he had any treats he was willing to give her, Teegan tapped Bella's shoulder telling her to cut it out. She gave slack to the lead rope so the gentle giant of a mare could graze down near Teegan's feet.
Teegan looked at Caleb her blue eyes peering at him, Caleb- I just wanna let you know, if there ever is something wrong, I'm always here to listen if you need someone's shoulder to listen. She gave him a small hopeful smile, before clucking gently to Bella to pick her head up- I'll be right back- I'm just going to go put her in her pasture, Teegan said softly to him.

Caleb let a small smile grace his face at Bella's actions. He pulled a carrot from his back pocket, evoking a whinny from Hershey - who wasn't too happy that he wasn't getting the carrot himself. Caleb slapped his own thigh, causing Hershey to snort and drop his head to graze. He held the carrot out on his palm, allowing Bella to roll the carrot off of his hand and crunch it into small pieces before swallowing it. Caleb wiped his palm on this pants leg.
Tee, I know I can talk to you. It's just... He sighed. He watched her walk slowly away from him, leading Bella to the next pasture over. He lifted himself onto the fence, hanging his legs over the side away from Hershey. He clasped his hands between his knees and glanced up as Teegan approached once more. I watched her dance against him. And then... she wanted me to forgive her. And I wouldn't. He dropped his head into his hands. Damn, I feel like a bastard.
