Jackie walked as Echo pranced around the round pen. Her head in a natural headset, her movement so graceful. She was so calm, so easy going, she seem like she had been doing this for years. Jackie just watched the horse movements and counted how many strides it took her to get around the round pen. The horse head went up when it hurt a sound. Came to a dead stop when a bird took off in the flight, and rear when a rabbit ran across the round pen.
It had been three years since Jackie was on the back of a horse. Three years ago she was in a horrible accident with a horse, which cost the horses life, and almost hers. She was riding, she was a show jumper, everything was going great, the best run she had so far, when it came time to jump, her horse jumped but lost balance when it landed. Causing both Jackie and the horse to fall, the horse fell on Jackie, almost killing her. Her horse had to be put down due to a broke leg, and also it would never be able to jump. That haunted Jackie forever.
Jackie walked in the round pen and Echo walked up to her. Taking a deep breath, Jackie walked Echo to the fence to help her get on. Jackie sat on the back of the grey Thoroughbred, in an English saddle. She asked for a walk, and Echo walked forward, then Jackie got brave and asked for a trot, then a canter. A sense of freedom came over her, as she cantered a horse for the first time in three years. She was in the place she belonged in the most.
Her instructor told her to take Echo over a few jumps. Echo was the first horse Jackie owned since her accident, and was still nervous about riding. She took deep breaths, making one more canter around the arena before going to jump. The first jump was more less trotting poles, and was nothing to be worried about at all. When the jumps got to over two feet is when Jackie’s body got tensed. Her instructor told her to relaxed and take it easy, everything would be alright. She did as she was told, and when Echo was about to jump, Jackie pulled her back. Her instructor fussed, and hollered about how it would teach Echo to refuse a jump. Echo was trained to jump, and jumped four feet with no problem.
Jackie knew pulling Echo away from the jump would teach her to refuse, but the accident replayed in her mind. It wasn’t jumping she was scared of, it was the landing. Her mind raced about what happen, and what if it happened again. Her instructor told her to try again, and she wanted the jump cleared, no buts about it. The instructor was hard on her, really hard on her, but she knew what Jackie could do and also what Echo could do.
A deep breath was taken by Jackie before she kicked Echo to go. As the jump got closer her breathing got harder and her heart raced. It was pounding so hard she thought he would come out of her chest. She gave Echo reins and lent forward, her heart seem to stop when she knew Echo was about to jump. The whole accident flashed through her mind the few seconds Echo jumped. Landing it with out a fault, and with complete balance, Jackie realized that she didn’t have to worry about the accident any more. She took Echo around the course a few times, like she never stopped riding. Like nothing every happened to make her want to stop.

She does her work in matter in seconds. On the other hand she is a really shy girl. She is not one to really go out and start talking with someone. She stays to her self, mostly writing or drawing something. Sometimes people don’t take her for real. They just blow her off like nothing.
Besides being shy, she is a real go getter. She will work until she is forced to stop. And it takes a whole lot to stop her. She can be seen as a suck up in away. She is willing to help anyone really, and listen very careful. She can also be seen as a snob since she won’t take to many people. She will get up and walk away when many people are around. People call her a soiled brat because her dad is a vet and her mom and riding instructor. When the truth is, she hates hands out, and hate just getting things. She works for everything she wants or needs.

Lena was born to an unwed mother and father. Her dad was still in vet school and her mom was an assistant to a riding instructor. Her father had two years of school left when he meet Lynn. It was more less a summer fling, and they bother thought nothing of it. Four months later Lynn found out she was pregnant, the start of it. Lena was born while her father was still and school, and as soon as he finished, her mother and father married. She wasn’t raised in a born she was “made” in a barn. Her mother parents didn’t want Lena mother with her father, for unknown reasons

She knew what it was like to have money one day, and the next have none. Her dad’s business took a lot of money just to start, and it never seem like it wanted too. Her family disagreed when it came to her riding, saying that she was going to hurt her self or that she should do other things. Her grandparents on her mother’s side tried taking her away from her home. They promised her everything she could dream of, but when she asked about horses they said none. That made up her mind quick, she wouldn’t go anywhere unless horses were there.
School was never that great for her, even though she had amazing grades. Middle school and Junior high school was the best but when she got to high school it changed. She broke away from her family and friends and slipped into depression. Her parents would wake up in the morning to find her gone. They would later find her sound asleep in the stall of her first horse. When he passed she almost lost her mind.
She had another horse that was there when she was down and going through everything. His name was Kingston’s One Night Stand. Given to her at two months of age, she was his mother. Her horse now, Kingston is a pure show horses. Pleasure classes in any style, and you will see him showing his stuff off.
