the cruel world had laid it's hands apon my hide, my eyes and my soul. i had nothing left to offer the path my father had chosen, i had been betrayed, and betrayed others far to many times to believe that my heart was still somehow pure deep inside, below the massive hole and coal black scars. i had no mother to speak of and my father was a loner, or nomad, roaming around until he was never seen from again. apon his lose, my mother fell into pieces, he seemed to have that effect on mares for some reason, he was handsome but his brain power was less than spectacular.
my coal and white hide shimmered in the dark moonlight, i was as far as my weary feet could take me. i had found this place through pure chance but it stunk of rotting flesh, abandonment and my father, though faint. did he have to be everywhere i went? tossing my head, i snorting, nostrils rippling. my elegant ears curved forward and nearly touched, lightly feathered feet were brought to a halt and i screamed chillingly, my blue eyes piercing through the night.
i would find comfort knowing that this would be a fresh start for me, a blank slate. i had jaded to many others to know that i could never be accepted elsewhere. hell, everybody probably knew about me here too. damn. am i really meant ot be homeless? i'm already from a broken home, am i just not supposed to have one?

appearance:
having always had an interest for fashion, cole took quickly to the appearance and quality of the "scenesteres". even before high school struck him, he had been developing his own personal style; although the arrival of highschool, and the acceptance of upper-classmen sparked the powder that lead to who he is today. he could finally be himself without that feeling of self-doubt he had been burdened with for years. all in all, cole can be found wearing whatever the latest fashion happens to be, and he spends far too much money on the clothes he adores. bright colors, tight materials, and hooded jackets are what he is all about. skinny jeans have always been his thing, no matter the color or material. He'll wear practically anything, and refuses to limit himself to just one style or look.
as for his hair, that is one thing that has changed a few times over the years; although he is almost positive that he loves it as it is currently. it is dark brown with barely apparent highlights that streak about. it falls straight, to his cheekbones, the nape of his neck, and just below his eyebrows. his eyes are by far his favorite aspect of his body, being a shade of striking hazel; and people often accuse him of wearing contact lenses to create the colors, but in all honesty, he doesn't. he feels self-consious about the profile of his nose, for he feels that it's oddly proportioned, and a little on the large size. cole is fit, but not exactly muscular. he could more easily be classified as "scrawny" than anything else. cole is considered to be a bit small for the average eleventh grade guy. standing at only five seven, he is often towered over by his peers, but he isn't sure if he would want to be any taller.
he draws in attention by simply being himself. cole spends a lot of time on himself in the morning. he also finds nothing wrong with that. cole can be found smiling an excessive amount, as long as he feels comfortable around you. most days, he will have two snake bite piercings in. he varies the style of ring daily, and can often be caught wandering around with two piercings that don't match, and sometimes, he doesn't wear any at all.

personality:
cole green has dignity and self-assurance, no matter what the public, his peers, or the world has to say against him. people have a hard time putting him down, and he has taught himself to efficiently block the blows. not to say that he doesn't feel it, because he does, he has just simply learned to feel that emotion, whatever it may be, and then move on. dwelling on something that occurred in the past will bring a man nothing but the purest misery.
when in public, he is rather kept to himself. although if he knows and enjoys you, he is bound to be friendly, over-spoken, and humorous. he tries his hardest to remain friendly to everyone around him, but despite his efforts some people just bother him to the extent where he can't fake a smile. when on his bad side, cole delivers strong words and hateful burns, and once you're on that side of him, it is a challenge to switch back. but, all in all, he's a pleasant, open-minded teenager with a lot to say.
cole is openly public about everything that he thinks, and has no problem what-so-ever saying what he thinks about something or someone. he also had a knack for acting before he throughly identifies the pros and cons for his actions, a quality which has cost him friendships and embarrassed him over the year. high school acceptance is all he really desires, but it's not something that he is willing to devote his life to. he has his standards, and his goals. big goals, in fact; and he sure as hell doesn't plan to let anyone with something smart to say regarding him, stand in his way of achieving those goals.
history:
seventeen years ago, it was nearly two o'clock in the morning when a young woman went into labor. six hours later, she was in the loving possession of her third child, also being her second son. he was to be named cole bryan green. as he aged, the child was always very bright, and excelled exceptionally quick. cole quickly oversaw his parents expectations, and quickly passed his elder siblings academically. at the age of nine, he was introduced into horse-back riding, a green family tradition, and just as quickly as he picked up knowledge in the class rooms at his elementary school, he began to excel in the ring.
the green family was happy, well liked, and very close. karl and wendy green had met when they where in high school, and married while they where still in college. true love, it seemed, was what fueled their relationship. thus being said, it can be clearly assured that the green children were raised in a nurturing environment, free of fighting and violence... or malice and hatred. the three children where happy, loved, and where also good friends. each was involved in activities that defined their personality: cole being very in to art, writing, and music; ryan being very in to swimming and painting; and james being very active in basketball and track. although, what ultimately connected the entire family was their love and passion for horses and the art of being one with a horse. karl grew up in the saddle, as did wendy, and the passion and talent was simply passed down.
cole has always been the black sheep of his peers at school. for surely, if they associated, or where even friendly, with the boy who had good grades, but black hair and a different sense of fashion, then their respectable reputations would be at risk. so, instead of taking that risk, the other kids neglected cole from the social events all throughout middle school. he learned to cope with, and even accept the fact that his classmates didn't include him in anything but their foul gossip. for when it came time for him to move into high school, his family relocated from montreal to cleveland. cole was finally able to leave his old reputation behind him, and when he arrived at school in the states, he was widely accepted. finally, away from the staring eyes of those who had watched him grow and developed their hate for him, he was understood and befriended. the only thing that set him apart from the rest of the kids around him was his small french accent, which he had acquired from speaking, and hearing, so much of the french language up until the move. for the first time in his life, cole could happily state that he enjoyed the people his age.
cole's brother and sister where far from sharing his sense of style, but they all got along pleasantly, and remained being good friends all the way throughout their childhood and teenage years. and when his eldest brother, james, died in a campus fire during the beginning of his freshman year of college, the green family was torn apart. cole no longer knew what to do with his time, and could barely accept the fact that god, or whomever called the shots upstairs, could take his brother away from him like that. over the next few months, religion slipped away from him, and he became agnostic, and he constantly grew more and more distant from his father, whom has always favored james over cole due to his athleticism. just a few months away from the first anniversary of james' death, ryan and cole green decided that they both wanted to retreat away from the home that reminded them horribly of their late brother; and in their minds, nothing seemed like a better choice than going away for their next year of school.
riding experience:
having practically grown up spending his time around the animals that facinated him, cole was finally allowed to ride as often as he wanted when he reached age nine. cole began in a western saddle, up atop his mother's older appaloosa mare named chic; although, his attention and desire towards english riding quickly caused the conversion in to the opposing disipline. he was eager to learn, and picked up new things with amazing speed. within just the first two days, he had learned to post; and within the first month, he was confidently jumping nearly three feet. cole spent hours of his time on the backs of many different horses, most of which his parents owned, but occasionally he would hack or compete on one of his father's client's horses.
at age twelve, cole took a near fatal fall on the trails. the horse, whom cole had been given as his twelth birthday present just a week and half previously, lost his footing at the gallop and fell to the ground. cole was unseated and tossed harshly to the ground; although, thankfully, he was able to walk away with nothing more than a broken wrist and a snapped colar bone. even before his bones had healed, cole was back in the saddle, but forced to take it easy for a while. after the next few trecherious months finally passed, cole was permitted to go back to his old ways of activity. he was more than thrilled; and so were his parents, because now he could start to do chores around the barn once more.
cole has truly owned only two horses over the course of his riding days, despite the fact that his family owns nearly twenty. he believes that bonds are what create a partnership between horse and rider, and those bonds take time and patience to build. the very same horse, his first horse, in fact, that cost him two broken bones when he was twelve, goes by the name of zeus. he is a twelve-year-old thoroughbred gelding with a striking, dappled coat or grey. the second horse, whom cole has been working with since he was fifteen, is a six-year-old friesian gelding named thor. cole currently competes in hunter classes with both of his horses, and he was devastated to have to leave them behind when he came to canterbury. his horses are the main role, and enjoyment, in his life.
