Jadyn felt a tad bit of excitement; it was the only emotion besides fear that she had felt since her arrival at Canterbury Academy. She had gotten notice of her acceptance of the horse, Drifting Dancer, as her assigned horse. The horse had immediately caught her attention when she read that the beautiful grey mare had been abused – a kindred soul some would say. So immediately she dressed in jeans and a thin t shirt, and with her camera bag slung over her shoulder she started out on the short distance to the barn. Quickly she found out that the mare was in the pastures and she headed out, catching site of the pretty mare – recognizing her by the fearful look – and heading towards it. She knew that she hated to be approached, so she simply settled down, her camera raised as she sat, leaning against a fence post. She smiled softly as she saw the mare looking her way, the digital cannon rebel clicking away as she took pictures of the surprised mare.

He always felt compelled to go to the barn, even though he wasn't riding at the moment. He still needed to sort out the Ally things with Kayden, and make sure it was okay he rode Kid in the horse show. It would all fall into place eventually. One hand reached back and casually scratched the back of his neck as he wandered by the paddocks, his eyes glancing over the different horses as they grazed in their paddocks, but one. A skittish looking mare, with a girl leaning against the fence post. Stepping to the side, he stood silently, watching the girl as she began to take pictures. After a moment of watching, he took a few steps forward, crunching a few sticks and leaves, on accident. IS she your mare? He spoke rather quietly, not wanting to spook the mare, and hopefully not the girl.

Jadyn was absorbed in the mare; she had stopped grazing and was standing with her head high, her nares flared and eyes rimmed with white. The poor thing, she must have so many bad memories – Jadyn could relate. Without realizing it, Jadyn shuddered. She didn’t want to revisit that dark, horrid place in the back of her mind. She was just beginning to lift her camera, her legs folded elegantly below her as she heard the crunch of grass. She assumed it was a horse, so when the voice of a man came she jumped, flinching visibly. She came quickly to her feet, rotating and moving farther into the pasture. She felt the tension radiating from the mare, and it only added to her own tenseness. “Uh, um, no not really, I mean, kind of. She’s my assigned horse.” Stuttering was common when you were so tense, and tense she was.

He seemed to have scared her, and he felt horrible. He thought his arrival had been somewhat noticeable, but even when she saw him, she still looked scared. Did he do something? One glance to the mare, and it was the same thing. He was starting to think that there was something spooky about him, it was scaring both of them. He listened as she began to babble a bit, like a lot of people did when they were nervous, or scared. That's cool. I'm Blake. He had never met anyone who was scared, so he wasn't really sure how to approach this. Should he stay? Go? For now, he was staying and pretend like nothing was wrong.
