Registered Name: Manic Panic
Barn Name: Manic, or Manny
Age: 5
Sex: Gelding
Breed: Welsh Pony
Color: Grey
Height: 14.1
Discipline: Hunter/Jumper
Personality: Manic is an absoulute joy to be around. With the typical 'gelding' attitude, he's always perky and loves to be around people. He's incredibly willing, but loves to have fun. Which is probably the hardest thing in his training. Sometimes he'll throw in a few bucks to celebrate a good jump. He's hardly ever malicious in his actions, but he needs to learn how to contain himself like a good pony. Grey doesn't mind how he gets rambunctious, but she knows when she sells him in a few years as a pony hunter, he's gonna have to lose that fun loving attitude. In the show ring, that is. But she loves him do death. He's kind of a one-woman horse, though. He can be skittish and flighty under anybody besides her, but thats probably just because she spoils him and lets him get away with just about anything. Manic is extremely athletic, which makes the big jumps easy for him. But the key component is that he has a bigger heart than any pony Grey's met. He'll jump the moon if she asked him to.
History: Manic was born on a small farm that specialized in breeding quality welsh ponies. His dam's name is Foxmoor's Royal Gala, and his sire is Smallwood Paris. He was trained there to do pony hunters until he was four. He was only jumping around 2'6" courses when Grey got him for her sixteenth birthday. But she soon found out that he had the agility to do far more. She began working on teaching him lead changes and working on his headseat. The jumping came easily. He could clear a 3'6" jump with ease. So even though she was at the age where she would typically move up to a horse, she brought Manic to Canterbury where they could compete in the three foot divisions. She knows she won't be able to fit the little pony for long, so her goal is to make him safe to sell to a younger kid to learn on.
