Sammy dragged his bare feet along the sand. Looking down as his feet seemed to get deeper and deeper in the sand. He loved the beach, most of the time, but today, he was just so lonely. He needed to find some one he could bond with, a girl, or a boy. He just needed a friend. It utterly depressed him that he had no one. Not yet.
He wanted to blame it all on his father. Even though he knew it was his fault he hadn't gotten out lately. He had just been so busy trying to.. fit in. It wasn't easy in a place like this. A stabled boarding school, and he hated riding. That wasn't easy for a kid to do. He dug his feet out of the hot sand and walked over to a a log. Sat down and started thinking. How could he make this day better? How could he meet somebody? He needed to know. Because, right know, this was killing him not knowing anyone.

Jadyn had just arrived, and had immediately left her dorm. She didn’t know her roommate, and didn’t care to be around people at the moment. She grabbed just her sketch pad, camera and jacket and had got onto a bus to the near by beach she had heard about. She was dressed in jeans and a short sleeve t shirt that didn’t fit to her slim frame. She wasn’t one to wear hip hugging clothes – it simply wasn’t her. Once she arrived at the beach she settled into a small nook – a place next to a palm tree where she could lean against the thick trunk and prop her sketch pad against her knee. There was a beautiful scene unfolding before her, the waves, the sky, everything was evaluated with an artists eye. She began to sketch, her pencil light upon the paper, when she heard the footsteps of another. Turning she noticed that he hadn’t noticed her and pressed herself farther against the tree, lifting her camera and beginning to photograph the scene that she had been sketching.

Sammy looked down in the sand. He took a stick and started writing stuff down. Stuff like nobody cares, nothing to do, can't live without you, and then random song lyrics. He was extremely bored today. He stood up and looked at a palm tree. It looked kool, it seemed to pop out of the horizon. He stood up and walked toward it a little. He ran his hands along side it's rough bark. Then he noticed a girl, tucked into a nook against the tree.
He smiled as he looked out to the scene she was doodling. "Beautiful isn't it?" he questioned. Smiling at the girl. He decided to be a flirt today, he needed something exciting in his social life. "I'm Sammy," he introduced.

Jadyn tried to stay still, out of view and away from the boy who was slowly making his way towards her. Finally he spoke and she stood up, backing a few paces away and avoiding eye contact. She turned her side to him and lifted her camera, shooting in the direction of the ocean. “Jadyn.” Her voice was soft and almost inaudible. She dug her bare toes into the sand as she turned on the back view of her camera. A lot of the pictures were crap, and as she went through deleting them, she kept a nervous sense on the boy that was a mere few feet away, so that if he were to approach she could move away.

Sammy smiled as she stood up. But then she stepped away, turned away, and wouldn't make eye contact. He figured she wasn't a very socialable person. He just stood there till he heard the mummering voice of the girl. It sounded like a name but he tried to make it out. Unsure how to make it out. He just shrugged it off. He would have said nice to meet you, but it wasn't nice to meet her. As so far nothing had happen other than her to go away from him, and barely introduce herself. He shrugged the thought off. Maybe she just didn't like him. He was fine with that. He thought about turning around. Walking off and going somewhere else. But he didn't know.
After a few seconds of delema he decided to do so. She didn't seem interested. Why waist his time on socializing with somebody that wouldn't talk? That just didn't sound right. He turned around and walked off a little ways. Not so far that if she wanted to she could easily say something and he'd hear.

She thought it was odd that he didn’t ask her to repeat her name, or anything, but as she felt his presence move away, she visible relaxed. Reaching down she grabbed her sketch pad and replaced her camera in its case. She settled into the sand, once again resting the sketch pad against her knees as she studied the horizon. The colors were incredible, as were the harsh lines that intermingled with the subtle slopes of the horizon – such a beautiful landscape. She knew the boy was trying to catch her attention by walking away, but honestly she was simply relieved that he was leaving. It wasn’t that she was anti social, she just – well, yes I guess you could say she was anti social, but at least she had due reasoning.
