Jasper sat upon the uncomfortable arm chair with a book held firmly within both of his hands. His eyes were searching the page at a somewhat fast rate, but every so often he would loose his place after shifting upon the chair. Lunch for him, had been spent here in the library as he waited for it to end so that he could go back to his drone like stature in class. This was his first day, and so far he wasn't liking it all that well.
His head was lazily laying on the back of the chair, gazing over the lines of the book, before his thoughts were interrupted by a voice near to him. He peeked passed the page of the book he was on, staring at the person who spoke to another about so and so's business. He wasn't much of an eavesdropper most of the time, but he couldn't read unless the room was quite, so his eyes remained on the person, listening to every soft murmur of their conversation.
He quickly looked away when the kid caught eyes with him, and acted as though he was reading again, but the person started walking towards him. He dropped his brown boots from the table, sitting up straight in his chair upon their prescience. "What are you lookin at kid?" the man asked in an angry tone, staring down at Jasper with an angered expression. "Uhm, m-my b-book." Jasper choked out, panic rising in his body as he managed to stand from his chair before his white wife-beater was gripped within the boys hands and he was thrown up against the wall. "Damn-" he breathed, holding back his curses as he stared at the guy, not letting the fear show on his face, which only egged the guy on.
"Look man, I.. I don't know what you're trying to prove, but violence is not the answer." Jasper said, not letting the worry within him out in his voice. The guy stared straight at him, his fist clenched as he held it up in the air, as if to threaten Jasper. But he remained calm, hiding the fear within him. The boy in front of him was about to swing before his fist was stopped by someone else's hand on his. Jasper's eyes remained clenched waiting for the blow.
ooc- when you reply I'll change the name at the top to the character you reply with. =D

[ooc: i'm going to make a random name for this guy about to beat up jasper, is that alright? lol he's names going to be john.]
Teegan was spending alot of time in the library lately, unlike some of the other girls on campus, she actually cared about her school work and her grades. And if her dad found out she was doing poorly at school here, he'd surely transfer her back to her old school. Because it had been Teegan's decission to come here, she practically had to beg her dad to let her come, and finally he'd given in and gave her an okay. Teegan had her Spanish III book in hand, and one of her little workbooks for Spanish also. The little book had worksheets in it that they were assigned to work on every night.
She pulled the door of the library open, and a small breeze of cool air greeted her, she made her way through the library and over to the tables where she normally worked on her homework, usually she was just there alone being that not many students spent their afternoon hours slaving away at school work, so she was surprised to see a small group of students maybe two or three, crowded around another student who was being pinned agains the wall. The bigger guy was holding the younger guy, who looked to may be of freshmen age. This kid was about to get beat up, she realized at that point the the upperclassmen was John, a kid in one of her classes.
Teegan had never been one to hate on the freshmen and she was always a fun loving, outgoing, nice girl and she wasn't about to just overlook this. She set her things down at her table and walked confidently over to the group she grabbed John's elbow before he took a blow to the kid standing before them. What the hell do you think you're doing? She said to him, her one eyebrow raised, questioning him. He then lowered his arm and pulled it from Teegan's grip, and him and his group of friends stormed off. Too bad for them, they couldn't beat up the freshmen today; let them go pick on someone their own size. Hey, are you okay? He seemed to be alright, and she didn't think that they'd hit him but she just wanted to be sure.

Jasper tensed up, still waiting for the blow but it never came. He opened his eyes upon hearing the voice of another girl, a sigh of relief escaping his pale lips. He ran his hands along his wife-beater, straightening it out before pullling his somewhat buttoned, green flannel shirt. He stared at the girl in shock for a moment, before his vision switched to the guy as he walked away, giving a cold glare for a second before the girl asked a question. "Yeah, I'll be fine." he said, looking at her with a small, hopeless smile.
His heart was racing within his chest, threatening to jump from his ribs. He didn't like violence but if the guy had hit him, he wasn't going to back down. After a moment or two of thought Jasper let that charming smile of his come through. Being a freshman always made people think he was littler then them, truth be told he never really learned right or wrong on his own. For most of his life he was home schooled and with that alone he was put in freshman when he could have been a junior. "Thanks for that, stopping him. I mean." he said, with a confident nod, sticking out his hand for the girl to shake. "Names Jasper Donovan, I'm new here." he introduced, that wide deviously handsome grin taking place on his pale features.
ooc- that's fine =D

Teegan nodded when he told her that he would be fine, she just wanted to make sure though. She listened as he thanked her for saving him back there, she said a simply- No problem, and gave him a small smile. She had felt kind of ackward for just stepping in like that, and breaking up the what could've been almost fight, but she wasn't the type of person that was going to just sit back and let something like that just happen, she just wasn't that kind of person. When he held out his hand to shake hers, she easily slid her hand into his and gently shook it. It's nice to meet you Jasper, I'm Teegan, Teegan Hawthorne. I've been her for a little while now. She told him with a small laugh.
That guy can be such a jerk sometimes, she said nodding her head in the the direction John, and the other couple of guys left it. Sometimes she just thought that guy was to big for his own good, and just thought he could go around beating and hating on all the freshmen. But there was nothing wrong with freshmen, all of them had been there at one point so what was the differance. Whatever, she shook her head mentally and look back at the boy infront of her. So how do you like it here at Canterbury, besides those guys? She asked him with a small laugh and a smile on her face. A small lock of wavy/curly blonde hair had fallen in her eyes, she quickly brushed it away and tucked it behind her ear as she awaited his answer.

Jasper nodded as she introduced herself, shaking her hand firmly yet softly at the same time before his hand dropped to his side. "It's a pleasure to meet you too." he said politely, placing the thumbs on his hand in his front pockets as he stood in a somewhat awkward looking position but it was what was comfortable for him. His smile lightly widened as she mentioned the guy being a jerk. "Eh, it wasn't my place to be eavesdropping on his conversation anyway. Though, violence wasn't the best way to solve that problem." he said, with a light shrug.
An uneasy look was featured on his face towards her question, he let a soft shrug come from his shoulders as he leaned up against the wall, pondering how to answer the question without sounding rude or full of himself. He leaned forward towards her, whispering softly. "To be honest." he started off, with a charming grin on his face. "This place is pretty predictable." he added, a sly smirk forming upon his plump lips, as he pulled his face away from hers. He was completely oblivious to the fact that it looked as though he were hitting on her, when he was merely being the friendly person he is.

When Jasper leaned forward and whispered to her, telling her that this place was pretty predictable, she gave a smile in his direction. Some might take his actions of leaning in and whispering to her, flirting with her. But although Jasper was cute, and he seemed really nice. Teegan had her eyes set on another boy, who was probably completely offl limits, but that's what made Teegan like him so much more. This place was kinda predictable, there were a ton of preppy girls- that only cared about their hair and thier make-up, which Teegan really hated about some people. All they wanted to do was be popular, and whatnot. Although Teegan may look like it on the outside sometimes, but in her heart she was no where near those girls. She didn't care if her hair got messy- or there was dirt under her nails. Teegan was just a regular girl.
Teegan smiled at him and turned around and walked over to her table where her books were, gesturing to him that he could come sit with her if he wanted to. So, do you ride horses? She asked him. She knew that a large portion of the students at Canterbury rode, but he didn't totally look the the horseback rider type. But who knew? She wasn't going to judge the book by it's cover. She wondered how many students at this school even rode western. She herself was a cowgirl all the way even though, she was now transitioning to english.

Jasper leaned up against the wall for a moment more, pursing his lips lightly as he bit the inside of his cheek. His blue eyes glancing around the carpet for a moment before back up at her as she started to walk towards the table with her books. Jasper raised an eyebrow curiously. Really, what he had meant by predictable was every teen seemed to do the same unintelligent things. Fall for someone, go out with them, date them, break-up with them over some silly reason and then make-up. Not that he'd know anything about that, because he didn't really like dating for that exact reason. Also, everyone in the school seemed to go by cliques, and he even had to admit he was almost like everyone else. Striving to be in the IN crowd, but somehow he managed to slip through.
Jasper nodded as she motioned him over, he silently walked over, pulling out his own chair before sitting upon it, slightly on the edge of the seat. At the mention of horses, he smiled and nodded."Yeah, Western. You?"he asked casually , with his curious gaze set upon her face. He leaned back in the chair, scooting forward lightly as his eyes shifted from her face to the table for a brief moment, his lips curved into a small non-teeth showing smile.

Teegan pushed her books and binders off to the other side of the table as Jasper came over and sat down along side of her. She gave a small smile in his direction and pulled her legs up underneath her, and sat indian style in her chair. She listened as Jasper told her that he rode western, a wide grin spread across her face as he told her so. She was happy to know that their were other students at CA who rode western.I ride western too. Because so far she'd found it to be mainly all fancy hunters, huge jumpers, or the fabulous eventers. Although she was learned to ride english, western riding and the speed around barrels had always been her passion. So did you bring your own horse to Canterbury, or are you leasing one of the school horses? She asked him curiously. She had finally convienced her parents to drive her horse the cross country trip out here to California, she had to beg and plead but they finally agreed to it, so Teegan was finally reunited with her beloved mare.

Jasper couldn't help but let his smile grow bigger, towards the mentioning of another western rider. So far he had only met English riders, but no matter how much he wanted to try it, he could never get interested in anything but Western, he was a cowboy for sure, and nothing could take him away from the joys of barrel racing, or pure out riding his black and white beauty. He nodded confidently,"Yeah, I brought my horse from home. Well, my ranch back home. I had to sell it to move here, see my grandmother passed away, and she was the only one I was living with at the time."he said, not taken back by his grandmother's death or anything. He believed it was better to mourn those for the good things they had done, rather then the bad. "What about you?"

Teegan sat and listened patiently as he explained about how he did bring his own horse- but he had to sell his ranch back home because the only one who he'd been living with, his grandmother- had passed. Immidiately Teegan felt sorry for him, she knew how hard it was to lose family members, as she'd expierianced it first had, Oh, i'm sorry to here that, She said sympathetically. She adjusted her leg on the the chair amount before answering Jasper's question as to if she brought her own horse here to Canterbury or not.
She couldn't help it but thinking about her mare Bella here with her at Canterbury, a wide grin spread across her light colored skin, and her freckled cheeks. She smiled lightly again, and responded with Yeah- I brought my own horse to, her name's Tinted Passion- otherwise known as Bella. A smile still resting over her lips as she thought of all the years she'd gone through with the firey mustang mare. All the hard work had paid off though- the mare was great now. And she had speed like no other, and she tended to blow some of her competition out of the water at times. So how long have you been riding? She asked curioulsy keeping the topic on horses, as she knew that- that was something that both of the two were interested in.

Jasper let a small smile grace his plump lips towards her sorry."Eh, don't worry about it. I've had to loose a lot of things in life, I found it's easier to mourn the good then the bad. She was a great person and it was her time to go."he said, with a soft laugh, followed by the nod of his head. Jasper hadn't always applied this to everything, upon the death of his mother, he was of course mourning the bad, in result he got mad at the person who killed her, his grandfather, and just made a bigger mess. So he learned over time, mourning the bad just ended in bigger disaster.
A large smile rested on his plump lips towards the enthusiasm Teegan had when talking about her horse. He nodded contently, listening to each word. He raised an eyebrow curiously towards the name."How do you get Bella out of Tinted Passion? haha."he asked, laughing towards the end of his sentence."I mean, yeah. It's a lovely name, besides that fact."he added, shaking his head at himself. He sighed of relief upon bringing up a new question and he began to ponder about how long he acctually had ridden. It was sometime after his mother died, but he never could remember when."Most of my life, ten or so years. You?" he asked in retort, smiling brightly.
