sample post: You'll love it there, her aunt had said with that annoying peppy smile littered across her face. So far she had been very, very wrong. Andi had been extremely reluctant to attend MSA in Maryland, but things had worked out there...so her Aunt assumed it would be the same in this new, weird, European school. But that wasn't the case. She hadn't met a single person, and her style of dancing stuck out like a sore thumb. She knew nothing about the streets of England and as far as she knew, street dancing didn't even EXIST here. She hadn't even been to any classes yet, and she was dreading it. Next week she was scheduled to take a ballet class. Ha! She'd never pointed her toes or spun around in her life. She'd look like a complete fool. So far things weren't going so well. She hated this place, and she wanted to go back home.
She had only arrived yesterday and hadn't had a chance to check out the actual school. Andi had settled into her dorm, more or less, and spent the rest of the night moping by herself. But this morning she got up and got dressed. She was wearing a black tank top and a pair of baggy jeans, as well as a pair of converse tennis shoes. Her softly curled brown hair was in a messy ponytail and her bangs clipped back out of her face. She threw a small backpack over her arm that contained her Sidekick, i-pod, and a jacket. Then she set out towards the school.
Her first destination, of course, was the dance hall. She wanted to check it out...see what she was up against, you know? Passing the window, she noticed nobody was in there. So she opened the unlocked door and walked in, letting her backpack fall to the wooden floor with a bang. She looked around at the mirrors, bars, and (expensive) stereo system. yep, it was just like Maryland School of the Arts. There were mirrors where she wanted brick walls to be, wooden floors where she wanted pavement. She heaved a small, self piteous sigh. She sat against one of the mirrors and got her ipod out of her bag. turning up the volume, she leaned back and gazed out of the windows across from her. It wasn't like she had anywhere else to go.
character
full name: Grey Elizabeth Banting
nicknames: just Grey
age: 16
grade: Sophomore
clique: scenekids
gender: female
sexuality: straight
family:
mother: Alandria Banting, 39
father: Maxwell Banting, 40
brother: Shaant Banting, 19
physical appearance: Grey is about 5'6", average height and build. She's fairly lean and well-muscled from all the sports she does. Her eyes are an olive green color, and her nose and lips are fairly plain. She has clear, fair skin, which is often tan in the summer from spending so much time outside at the barn.
Her hair is an auburn brown color, and is naturally straight. She has side bangs and usually has her hair thrown in a messy ponytail to keep it out of her face while she's at the barn. She doesn't have a very distinctive style, but she just wears whatever she wants. Usually whatever's comfortable. She doesn't worry about impressing anybody.
clothing style: Grey doesn't really have one certain style. One day she's in a cute dress, the next she's wearing sweatpants and a t-shirt to school. She really doesn't care. if she had to have a label on her clothing style, it would be kind of punk. But it can vary from day to day. you never know with Grey.
likes:

dislikes:
spiders
heights
rude people

being alone
personality: Grey has a...distinct personality, to say the least. Or shall I say 'personalities'? I mean, she's not bipolar or anything like that, but her mood can change just like that. It all depends on how you treat her, and basically what impression she gets from you. When she meets people and takes a liking to them, she'll be a great, loyal friend. Really sweet and kind and caring and all that jazz.
However, if you tick her off...she can get pretty nasty. She's really independent and stubborn, and always has to have the final word. She's not afraid to be a total bitch, and if she feels threatened or insulted she won't hesitate to let her meaner side come through. But like I said, she's usually pretty great. once she becomes your friend, she's got your back for life.
history: Grey was born in Boston, Massachusetts. They lived in a small apartment in the middle of the city. Her father worked in advertising and her mother was a stay at home mom. Sure, they loved it in boston, but the apartment was too small for their family of four. So when Grey was seven, they moved to Mississippi where the cost of living was low and they could buy a lot of land--something they never could have had in Boston. They built a nice house on a plot of 50 acres. Not far down the road was a small stable where Grey's mother enrolled her in riding lessons. She thought it would be a good way for Grey to meet new people and get adjusted, but she never expected her to fall in love with the sport.
Grey took riding lessons for a year, and continued falling in love with it. She had increased her visits to the barn from once a week to at least five. She rode a bunch of the school ponies and with all her dedication grew pretty good pretty fast. it was on her eighth birthday that she got her first pony. He was a small welsh red roan pony named "Keep It To A Whisper". The family fenced in their land and built a small barn. Whisper was still kind of green, but Grey had already grown tough and brave and the little eight year old (with the help of her trainer) had that pony broke in no time. Throughout the years she continued to move through ponies, up to horses. When she grew out of Whisper he was used as a school pony at her barn, and she got a large pony named Some Like It Hot. She competed in the large children's ponies until she turned fifteen.
When Grey turned Sixteen her parents told her that she could do what she'd been wanting for years--attend a riding boarding school. She knew that riding horses was what she wanted to do in her life, so what better way to pursue her career than to go to a school where she could ride full time? So she left behind her sweet ponies and came here.
riding expierence: She started riding when she was seven. When she turned eight, she got a pony, Keep It To A Whisper. He was a tiny, sometimes crazy, welsh pony. When she got him he was only four so it was tough, but she had grown brave and smart on a pony. And surprisingly enough. the tiny girl was very successfull in the small children's hunters. When she outgrew him, he became a school pony and she started riding her trainer's ponies. She had some tough times, as her parents couldn't afford to buy her her own pony at this time. But after a while she found someone offering a free lease on a large pony mare, Some Like It Hot. She rode the pony in the greens divisions for a year until her owners decided to give the pony to Grey. She continued to ride her and moved up to the large pony divisions. When it came time for her to leave her pony and move up to horses and do the Children's and Junior divisions, she came to Canterbury.
