i157.photobucket.com/albums/t46/yoleven/hewitt.pngKaylin rolled over, slapping her hand down on the alarm clock that was buzzing in her ear. She sighed and lay there, not wanting to move. Finally, she rolled out of bed only to hop into the shower. The warm water helped to wake her up and soon she was dressed and walking out of the dorm room. Her shorts came midway down her thigh, revealing her long, firm legs. She wore a pair of sneakers with black stripes that matched her black lace cami, covered in a pink blouse. She stretched as she stepped out of the building and strolled to a patch of fresh green grass.
She lay down on the grass, stomach down. Her Zune lay beside her, earbuds streaming music into the air. Opening her text book, Kaylin tapped her pencil on it as she skimmed the page, taking notes. Pretty soon, her left hand was cramping slightly from all the writing and she put down the pencil, rolling onto her back and sliding her sunglasses on to sheild her eyes from the sun. She hummed softly to the music. For a while, Kaylin just lay there, humming and bouncing her leg slightly in time with the music. The crunch of shoes on grass made her stop and look up, raising a hand so she could better see who it was.

Chase wanted to just get out, and explore around campus, anc check everything out- it was only his second day here at Canterbury, but he was still pissed off at his grandfather for sending him here. He would've been perfectly fine staying in kentucky and training there, he'd made his way to the top there just fine, who said he needed some boarding school full of other teens to help him achieve top eventer, if anything they might distract him from reaching his goal, great-just great. Chase had his hands tucked in the pockets of his abercrombie jeans, and just a plain black t-shirt on his back. His blue eyes peered out from underneath his shaggy brunette hair, he walked along the pathway as he just thought random thoughts to himself, he saw a younger looking girl laying out on the grass, attempting to work on her homework. Chase walked a few feet past her and sat on a nearby bench close to her, he spread his legs out in front of his taking in the sun lightly- he looked down at the girl on the grass, and gave a small smirk of a smile, waiting to see if she'd notice him. She seemed quite preoccupied in her music, so he didn't even know- if she knew he was there.

Kaylin shifted on the grass, rolling over onto her stomach once more. She peered up at the newcomer, curious. She hadn't seem him around before, but he looked older than her fifteen years. She propped herself up on her arms and stretched lazily before sitting cross-legged in the soft grass. She tilted her head, curious about the newcomer. Finally, she could stand it no longer. Shrugging, as if she couldn't help herself, she leaned slightly forward and said, in a smooth, audible voice, Hey, are you new around here? Kaylin was never one for niceties and skimping around what she wanted to know. She was very blunt, as it was, and sometimes it got her into trouble. But, ah, well, what can one do in a situation where one wants to know something? Ask it. At least, that was the younger girl's view on the subject. She leaned back, her arms out behind her, as she awaited his answer.

Chase watched the girl for another moment or so before letting his piercing blue eyes to wander over the scenary that the campus park here presented. Everything was so peaceful and quiet- it felt good to be able to just take a step back for once- rather than it being work, work, work and compete, compete, compete, all the time. Maybe his grandfather sending him here to Canterbury wouldn't be so bad after all. He reverted his blue eyes, sheilding by the tips of his brunette hair; he let his eyes dance back over to the girl who was now sitting up in the grass beside him. He gave a half smile in the girl's direction, and raised an eyebrow at her. Yeah- I guess I'd be the new kid. He said to her with a laugh- he'd never had that title before he was always on top, and the one in charge and now he was at the bottom of the food chain. But yeah, I'm Chase- Chase Henderson. He said extending his hand in the girl's direction, then asking And you are?

Kaylin kept her gray, nearly silver eyes on his for a moment more before looking back towards her silent Zune. She pouted prettily and grabbed it, hitting a few buttons before her whole face lit up as the slow tones of a One Republic song wafted through the air. She grinned, setting the Zune beside her once more. Kaylin turned back to him as he spoke. Yeah - I guess I'd be the new kid. She smiled slowly. I wouldn't worry too much. You're good-looking, and have some fashion sense, she teased, so I don't think too many of the guys - or the girls for that matter - would be against welcoming you into their 'cliques.' She rolled her eyes at the word. She didn't view people as this clique or that clique. Either you were a friend, someone who could be a friend, or an enemy. Simple and to the point. Why make things difficult by adding shit about who's better than who? She was pulled from her thoughts by his voice. But yeah, I'm Chase - Chase Henderson. She took his profferred hand, her hand sliding into his with ease. Her grip was confident in its softness. I'm Kaylin Camrak. Please, I'm sure.

When the girl who sat in the grass beside him, said that he'd eventually fit with the cliques and what not seeing as he was at least good looking and had some sense of style, Gee-thanks. He said sarcastically, in a joking manner of course. He smiled down at the girl when she introduced her self as Kaylin, It's nice to meet you, he told her. He for some reason was at a loss of words, he really didn't know how to talk to this girl- I guess he didn't really know how to talk to alot of new people in general, being that it was always people knowing him- and meeting him first rather than the other way around. He could do this though, he was Chase Henderson. So what grade are you in? He asked her, wondering if she was single too- but Chase didn't ask that now. The girl did look reasonably younger than him, possibly a freshmen but she looked more like a sophomore. Chase stared down at her for a few more moments, before he reverted his piercing blue eyes to the distance, he kept wondering when he'd be able to start his eventing training again, he longed to be back on a horse and riding through the fields bounding over solid obstacles, and if you hit them your going down to- it wasn't like in show jumping where you could just knock a rail and that was it. If you hit it- you were going down to and that was that. Luckily Chase hadn't had to many bad falls, although he'd been tossed before none of them were life threatening.

Kaylin turned slowly and piled her books and papers in one neat pile, her Zune atop it. She turned back to him, stretching on her back once again. A strip of her flat tan stomach was revealed when she shifted positions, arms over her face. She smirked. No problem, Chase. She listened to the soft rustle of leaves as two birds took flight. His question didn't really surprise her. I'm a freshman, but I'm almost sixteen. And you? She seriously doubted that it would bother Chase if he was seen talking to a freshie, but if he was, oh well, his loss.

Chase shot one of his charming Chase smiles in her direction, this girl was pretty cute; but Chase for the most part liked all the girls he met, and didn't have a problem flirting with any of them, would this girl just be one of the million he flirts with; or will she take a big effect on him, and really be the one for him? Chase smiled and listened as she told him that she was a freshman, Chase smiled before added, Aww your a freshie, He teased her, No- im just kidding, don't worry- I don't hate on the freshman, after all I was a freshmen once too. Jake looked away for just a moment before letting his blue eyes come back and rest on Kaylin's eyes But yeah- I'm a Junior this year. Chase shook his head lightly to fix his hair so it was stil resting on his face rather than brushed off to the side. So- how long have you been here at Canterbury?

Kaylin laughed softly at his jab at her being a freshie, but was sort of thankful that he didn't hate on freshies. She wished some other people felt that way. Well, no. If someone had a problem with a freshman because of their grade... wow, ass hole. She smirked and lifted her silver gaze to Chase's blue one. Next year you'll be big man on campus. Won't that be fun. She playfully stuck her tongue out at him, but in a cute way, not in an 'I'm an annoying brat' way. She stood, brushing some grass off her her mostly bare thighs. Hey, it was hot. She wasn't a slut. She just wore a short skirt to prevent... dehydration and overheating. Yep. Totally. I've been here for a little over a month. Why'd you come to Canterbury? She motioned to the seat beside him. Mind if I sit?

Chase ran his fingers through his hair to slightly get his shaggy brunette locks out of his eyes for a moment, only to let them fall back over his eyes conealing the bright blues he had. When Kaylin told him he'd be the big man on campus next year, he smiled at her. Yes, it was true, what high schooler wasn't excited for their senior year of highschool, but yet- he didn't want to totally leave behind all his days of partying and the close friends he'd made back home in kentucky.
When Kaylin said that she'd been at Canterbury for a little over a month it really made him feel like a newbie he hadn't even been at Canterbury, but a week. As she motioned to the seat beside him, he slid down the bench to make room for her and then spoke No, I don't mind at all, go ahead, he said to her with a sweet smile on his face, his eyes sparkling in her direction.
So why did he come to Canterbury, that was an easy one he didn't want to come! His grandfather had sent him here because he thought Chase would be better off, and he'd be able to make more friends but still be able to keep up his training. Well, coming to canterbury wasn't exactly my decission. My grandfather sort of sent me here against my will.. he said with a laugh taking a short breath before continuing; He thought I'd be able to make more friends, or whatever; rather than just training and competing 24/7 back home. He said to her looking into her eyes as he spoke. So what about you miss Kaylin- why did you come to canterbury? He asked her with a charming smile plastered over his face.
