Ari tapped her foot as she looked out the full-length window of her bedroom, ebony eyes scanning the road. Her jeans were suddenly too tight, her shirt too uptight. She sighed. She was so nervous. She'd changed her outfit fourteen times already. You know the saying 'the third time is the charm'? Yeah. Not true. Ari went to her closet and pulled on a short jean skirt and a blue tanktop. The outfit was cute and didn't look put together, and it was comfortable. She grinned. Finally. Unfortunately, in about ten minutes, she'd probably change again.
The sixteen year old girl left her room behind to go find Will. She found him, sitting quietly in the study, a book in hand. She grinned and grabbed it up. It was some book about how muggles view werewolves. She rolled her eyes, smiling down at him.
"He's not here yet, and you're worried he won't show up."
Ari grinned at how well her brother knew her. It made certain things impossible. When she'd come home from Josh's a few weeks prior, Will had said she was practically glowing and had guessed off the bat what had happened. That day was the first in a long string of days spent with Nik, swimming and cuddling and laughing.
And now Nik was supposedly coming over to meet her parents and then they'd be on their way to the train back to school. The only problem was that Ari worried he wouldn't come. She ran her hands over her skirt and stood, planning to go upstairs and change.
"Sit down, Ari. You look fine." Will's voice was condescending and he earned a smack upside the head for it.
"Ari, be nice to your brother." Ari turned, seeing her mother standing in the doorway. Vivian was a striking woman, her long golden hair curling luxuriously over her shoulders and down her back. She was slightly taller than Ari, her stature a bit plumper, seeing as Ari had lost a lot of weight over the few months she and Nik had been seperated.
Hugh sat in the recliner in the adjoining room, eyes scanning the daily profit. He'd probably say hello to Nik and disappear. Ari smiled. She and her father got along much better than she and her mother.
She was sitting, lost in thought, when the house elf, Nikki, came in. Nikki was well clothed, and, even though she was free, she stayed with the Chase's, who treated her like their own. She bowed, promting a shaken head from Vivian, and announced that someone was at the door, a young Mister Cadogan, for Miss Arianna.
Ari leapt up, running down the hall to the front entrance way and spotted Nik. Her grin widened as she sprinted the last couple yards and flung her arms around him, her head automatically tucking under his chin.
Vivian, Hugh, and Will followed at a slower pace.
"Welcome to the Chase Ranch, Nik. We've heard so much about you." Vivian smiled, clasping her hands before her chest. Ari rolled her eyes.
"Good to meet you, Nik. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going upstairs." Hugh stopped beside Ari and pulled her slightly away from Nik. He whispered softly into Nik's ear. "Don't hurt my girl ever again, Mr. Cadogan. You seem like a good guy. I'm sure there won't be a problem." He lightly kissed Ari's forehead before climbing up the stairs.
Will nodded his head in hello.
Ari turned back to Nik, taking his hand and leading him to the kitchen where a platter of her food was arrayed. "You have to try the chocolate strawberries. They're really good. I made them all myself- grew the strawberries, made the chocolate, everything." She grabbed two, handed him one, and bit into it, the chocolate oozing out of the strawberry and covering her lips, making them very kissable.
character
full name: Caleb James Camrak
nicknames: none
age: 17
grade: junior
clique: gentlemen
gender: male
sexuality: straight
family:
Hugh Robert Camrak, 45 - rancher
Chrisane Elizabeth Camrak, 47 - baker - owns 'Chrisane's Bakery'
Kaylin Rhiannon Camrak, 15 - student
Aunt Jemma
physical appearance: Caleb stands at six feet six inches. His warm brown eyes are welcome and inviting at first glance, but when you take a closer look they appear to glint with amusement, as if he knows something you don’t. His hands are big and strong, a bit rough from working on the farm but gentle all the same. His body is toned from carrying the hay bales around, among other things. His arms are firm, his long legs rock hard. And he sports an eye-catching six-pack… well, if he happens to have his shirt open/off, which actually is pretty often. He keeps his brunette hair short, sometimes using gel to style it, but usually leaving it however it is when he rolls out of bed. [Isn’t that a nice image?] His skin is tanned, but not as much as it would have been had he still lived on the farm. Caleb also has a few scars. He didn’t trip or anything. At age fourteen, Caleb started working with Tempest. Tempest had a nasty temper and gave Caleb a few colorful bruises as well as scars up and down his arms. Caleb has one long scar across his chest from when he’d lost control of a then spooked Tempest, who reared up and brought down his hoof on Caleb’s chest.
clothing style: Caleb doesn’t really wear too many different things. He almost always has a pair of jeans on – which just happen to be tight in all the right places, as well as loose in all the other places. He sometimes wears a button-up shirt unbuttoned over a tight-fitting tee. However, he prefers no shirt at all. This isn’t because he’s a man whore or anything. He simply has gotten used to wearing no shirt from working at the ranch. If he wears a hat, it’s usually a baseball cap. He would rather where aviator sunglasses, however. He’ll sometimes change into a brand-name tee and his best pair of jeans for outings. When there’s a formal occasion, however, Caleb becomes someone else. He wears a suit, usually a tux, and the crisp black and white of the outfit just seems to fit with him. No matter what he wears, Caleb always looks good.

personality:
Caleb can be a fierce friend or a formidable enemy. He's supportive and always there for his friends, very loyal. However, if you're on his shit list, duck and cover. He doesn’t react like his sister – the whole ‘curse, attack, hissssss, claws, snarl, etc’ doesn’t really fly for him He’s the cold shoulder kind of guy. I mean total and complete silence. He won’t acknowledge you. At all. You’re in his way? He’ll try and walk through you. And when you just continue to piss him off? Well, who do you think taught his sister how to punch? Yep, that’d be Caleb. When silence doesn’t work, he turns to his fists.
Caleb puts up a tough front. You probably know the kind. Nothing in the world can bother him. ‘I’m rubber, you’re glue. Whatever bounces off of me… sticks onto you.’ ‘Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.’ Yeah, that’s the kind of thing I’m talking about. Growing up, Caleb was Kaylin’s everything. In his mind, he had to be tough, and strong, and invincible. That meant that he couldn’t let anything at all affect him, otherwise he’d be letting his little sister down. We couldn’t have that, now, could we?
Underneath his cool, tough exterior, Caleb is a real softy. This side of him really comes out when he’s with a horse. Doesn’t matter which horse, either. He loves romantic gestures, being a romantic himself. Once you get him to open up, he’s easy going and a great guy. His gentle manner allows him to calm a startled stallion, as well as touch girls’ hearts. Deep down, he yearns for companionship other than his younger sister, and someday he wants to find love.
history:
Caleb grew up on a small ranch house in the country. Starting when he was little, he had a strong pull towards horses. His father owned three or four Thoroughbreds, and when Caleb turned five, he went on her first ride. Ever since that first ride, he was attached to the hip of his horse, Silver Bullet- a stallion who had, at first, been lame, but was slowly nursed back to health by Caleb and his father. When Kaylin turned thirteen, he retired Silver Bullet. The old stallion was left to graze in the pasture.
Apart from the horses, Caleb was very close to his family. Her father and he would go out late every night and go for a walk together before he had to go to bed. His mother was his hero, always giving what she might not be able to, always doing more than was asked of her. But then there was Kaylin, Caleb’s younger sister. He was two when she was born, and, through the years, he was always there for her. They would do everything together. He jumped with her into the lake for her first time. He taught her how to ride. He was always there, lending a shoulder when Jacob or Ean didn't accept her Valentine's Day present. He was always fiercly protective of his younger sister.
Life was a bit rough for Caleb. He was eager to throw punches at annoying kids, and got into much trouble for that. But as he got older, he learned to control his temper, however hard that was. He found a kindred soul in Tempest, and began work on befriending the wild stallion. It became his personal project. The project would ultimately turn his life around.
After six months of Kaylin's depression, her parents sat down with her to talk. They hadn't been able to ease her sorrow. Not even Caleb could numb the pain. So, together, they decided to send her to live with her Aunt Jemma in Cali. Kaylin didn't object, didn't even say yes or no. She just sat there. So Caleb made the decision. He would go with her, and now here they are, almost two years later, living on campus.
riding expierence: Caleb learned how to ride at a very young age. Overall, he's been riding for nearly twelve years. He knows how to ride Western, being what he was taught to ride first. After much struggling, he aquired knowledge of English as well. However, Caleb enjoys cross-country the most. Going for a long ride over rough terrain, nothing but him, the horse, and the wind - well, that's his kind of ecstacy. For most of his riding experience, Caleb rode Silver Bullet. But he also managed to ride the most tempermental stallion - Tempest - at her father's ranch after much training.
