The girl sat curled up in one of those huge chairs. Her legs were tucked up under her, with an elbow on the arm rest and her head resting on her hand. Her head was tippd slightly to the side, and her hair was worn down loose and fell down into her eyes every so often. She wore a beige and white sweater like so <--click that and picture it in beige and white instead of blue and black.] Simple slim fitting jeans covered her legs, and orange flats <-- again click] covered her small feet. A book was held in her free hand. Something horsie, but I'm sure that was obvious. It was King of the Wind, in fact, a childhood favorite of hers that she hadn't read in years. Kenzie had always been a bit of a bookworm, but she hadn't had as much time for reading lately as she used to. Between homework and her horse nad blah blah, she'd been kept pretty busy.
But it was a weekend, and she finally had some free time, having finally finished all her homework. Zanzibar had been left contently grazing in the pasture and as soon as she got tired of reading, she supposed they'd go for a good long run down the beach. Barefoot. Yes, that sounded nice. A barefoot run down the beach. Skip the shoes. She'd always been a bit partial to going shoeless, but it wasn't allowed so much around here. Only in places she wouldn't get stomped, of course, did she run around barefoot. Otherwise heavy boots were worn. Those darn colts sure had a way of stepping on a person's toes. But there weren't too many of the antsy little things up here. She kind of missed them. She missed the hard core training schedule her mother and grandparents had shoved her on. But she was thoroughly enjoying Canterbury, too. She supposed she'd be able to finish out her senoir year here. Despite being a little homesick...Only a little, though...

Well I Just Heard ------------------------------------------------------- the news today, it seems my life is gunna change
Alayna all in all was having a good week. Nava was moving well after his latest injury and Alayna was definetely happy about that. Thank god Alayna was taking vet tech and interning at the equine clinic or she would be spending a great amount of money just on the stallions injuries. Nava's hot temper was going to be the end of him one of these days. He was a Spanish Andalusian that Alaynas family had raised herself. The only way for Alayna to have him as a horse here at Canterbury was to convince the owner to buy Nava, which wasnt that hard for Nava was a great animal. But then again he was a very hard horse to handle. A big, huge, ebony black oversized bombshell. He always struck out at other students when he was in a bad mood so many knew to stay away from him. Rather be safe than sorry. This latest injury was when Nava tried to kick through the paddock fence to get at another stallion. Men. So typical.
Today was a saturday and Alayna decided to let Nava have half the day off. Normally on the weekends she was riding him twenty four seven. And she could not believe that she was doing this. As soon as Alayna woke up, at noon as usual on weekends, she walked into the library. There was really nothing to do and even thouh Alayna loved to read she just never spent much time in the library unless she needed to. Alayna was wearing a simple pair of comfortable blue jeans and a long sleeved tank top by cowgirl up. Alaynas long brown hair was flowing on her shouldars, occasionally the light would catch onto the red and blonde highlights that ventured within the bown. Alayna was the kind of girl that never wore too much makeup but she took very good care of herself. Alayna took pride in how she looked but she did not want to look like a barbie doll either.
Fumbling through the books Alayna found one that was titled Unmanageable Stallions; how to control the testostrome of a equine species. Well it looked interesting even though she did not need much help with Nava. Nava was like an oversized teddy bear when Alayna was around. Grabbing the book off the shelf Alayna went to sit at the large and very comfortable chairs before she noticed a familiar face. Mackenzie. A smile spread across her face as she walked towards her friend. Mackenzie was one of her closest girlfriends though since Nava's latest injury Alayna hasnt had much time to hang with her best friend. Hey Mackenzie, how have you been? Alayna said lightly. Alayna was nearly always in an either bubbly more or a talkative mood. There was rarely any other kind. ooc: done [/blockquote][/blockquote]

The girl's face tipped up as she heard the familiar voice, a smile spreading over her features. Hey, Layna, how've you been?! she squealed, and was given a dirty look by the librarian. Sorry Mrs. Swolve... she said in a more hushed tone, and looked at Alayna with a mischevious sparkle in her eyes that read clearly That old bat! The librarian could be a bit eccentric at times, but she was alright. Mackenzie got on fine with her, anyway. Until Alayna showed up and made her squeal in that high pitched voice all girls have.
She looked at Alayna, still grinning. Sure girl, you show up and get me in trouble.. she said with a smirk. She closed the book, glancing at the page number so as to remember it, and pulling her legs up so they were tucked under her. How've you been? I feel like I havee't talked to you in ages.. she laughed.
How's Nava? There was a lilt in her voice that said that she knew the stud had been up to his usual mischevious self. Since the latest injury I had to hear about through the grapevine! She said it in a rather accusatory tone, but she was clearly just teasing, for htere was a smirk on her lips and a twinkle in her eye that could be clearly read. She laughed a bit.
