Kayden nodded at Teegans apology and watched as she attempted to follow his direction. She pulled everything off pretty well until the end, when she opened her right rein while asking the horse to track left. It was common mistake in newer riders that when they wanted to move the horse closer to the rail they pulled the outside rein. "Pretty good. Try to always have the horses neck bent to the inside - when you want to move him towards the rail open your inside rein only slighly and push him over gently with your inside leg. You can walk. That was pretty good for a first english lesson. Practice your posting and changing directions a lot. Now what was it you wanted to ask? He wasn't unfair. He would share about himself - just not during the lesson.

Teegan nodded as Kayden directed her to work on her posting and changing of directions, and everything else was pretty good. She responded with a simple Okay, the he went ahead and told her she could ask whatever she was going to say before.
Is that your own horse there? Or is he one of the school's horses? She asked him, she was touched at the horse; and there was just something tugging at her heart at the way he looked, so malnurished and he looked so nervous.

Kayden watched as Teegan came to a stop, her eyes stationary upon the four year old gelding that stood next to Kayden with his head down and auds perked forward. Kayden clucked softly and the horse jumped forward, his head shooting skyward and the pinks of his nares showing as a large snort resounded from his chest. "Hey now. Its okay buddy." At the reassuring tone of the experienced horseman the horse began to move forward, his strides still choppy and uneven, his head still high but he was moving forward at the trot - an improvement to balking and not moving his muscles.
Kayden kept his head and eyes directed at the horse, but answered the girl in a soft tone meant to not upset the young horse. "Colorado Ryan is technically owned by the school but he is mine. I'm going to train him, and depending on his talent and where he excels, either compete with him or find a student that can take his to his potential."

Teegan brought Dev to a halt in the middle of the ring, still a resonable distance between him and the other horse, as not to spoke or scare him. She pulled her feet from the stirrups, then patted the Dev's neck, and adjusted his mane til it was on one side like it was suppose to be. She then moved her eyes back up to Kayden as he began to speak about the gelding beside him. Colorado Ryan. She liked that name, she listened closely to what Kayden said about him, that he was overall the school's horse but he was training him, and she nodded as he spoke.
She gave a slight smile before she spoke- being sure to pick her words before she spoke them as not to go on a rambling fit again. Well, if you ever need any help with the horses or anything, I'd be more than happy to help out. She told him; she was down at the barn almost 24/7 anyways- so she would love to help out, especially if it possibly meant with that big guy there at Kayden's side. She wouldn't push anything though- it was Kayden's decision, not hers. She waited for just a moment before swinging her right leg over and dismounted, landing easily on the ground with both feet planted. She looked at Kayden for a moment, then ran up her stirrups and took hold of Dev's reins.

Kayden clucked softly, causing the horse to rush into a canter, his forelegs on one lead and his haunches on the other. Kayden immediately applied pressure to the lunge line and made a soft whoah sound. The horse obeyed, and once he was trotting smoothly Kayden repeated the canter request and this time the horse moved forward in an uncomfortable canter, but he was on the correct lead.
He thought lightly - as much as he wanted to work with Ryan on his own, with lessons and Cruz's training he could use some help. "Well, Ryan here could use a fungal bath every other day and have his hooves treated for thrush every day, some walksn just getting used to gentle handling. Interested? I can do most of it, but some help wouldn't hurt." Kayden watched the gelding canter out a few more minutes, sighing as he saw that the horses sun bleached pelt was already dampened in sweat.

Teegan watched Ryan beside as he moved into a canter, looking unbalanced, she then watched as Kayden moved him downward to trot before asking him to canter once more. She stood at Dev's side and waited silently for an answer from Kayden. She listened as he instructed of what needed to be done for Colorado Ryan on a daily basis, like fungal baths every other day- and everyday he needed his feet treated for thrush. When he asked if she was interested, she gave a nod; a small smile resting on her lips- Yeah, I'm up for it, she told him. She patted the Dev's shoulder gently, before turning back to Kayden and asking, So, when would you like me to start? It would give her something to look forward from now on, being able to come down and help out with the horses. Even though Teegan wouldn't be riding Ryan, she'd always had a passion for just being anywhere near horses. Back home she always took the time to create a bond on the ground with her horses before she just hopped into the saddle.

Kayden smiled as the gelding stopped and headed towards the middle of the arena. He handed the sweat dampened gelding a treat and placed a calming hand on his thin, bone protuding shoulder. The work had obviously caused the horse some stress, and Kayden knew that this horse would take a lot of time in hand before he would be able to be ridden at the level Kayden knew he was capable of. Turning to Teegan he eyed the horse she held in her hands. "Well take care of him first, i need to work him in the other direction and then take him for a walk. I can meet you at the stables in about thirty minutes to show you what you need to do."
With that he turned his back on the girl and moved his hand to the horses head, slowly, as he saw the horses eyes begin to roll. "Whoahh." Eventually the horse turned, and they began the exersizes in the other direction.
ooc: if you want to respond here, ill make a post in the barn.

Kayden had told Teegan that he still needed to finish up working Colorado Ryan out here in the ring, and then that he'd meet her in the barn in about a half an hour. She nodded and responded with a simply Okay, Then she pulled the reins over Dev's neck and headed to the gate of the arena, she opened the latch and walked through and gently closed and latched it shut behind her, careful as not to make to much noise, so she wouldn't be causing any stress to the gelding Kayden was working with in the ring.
Teegan easily led the gelding down the long barn aisle back to his stall, and walked him into the bedded stall. That's a good boy, She cooed softy to him scratching his forehead as she proceded to unbuckle the throat latch, and the the nose band on his bridle, she easily slipped the bridle off the gelding as he stretched out his neck, she smiled at him and gave a small laugh. She hung the bridle over her right shoulder and proceeded to move back to the saddle, she unbuckled the girth from both sides of the saddle and gently pulled the saddle off his back, then taking the girth and the saddle pad in her other hand.
She walked from his stall closing the door behind her and then strolling down the barn aisle to the tack from to put all of Dev's things away. Teegan returned to his stall with a curry comb and another brush and her hoof pick; plus for working hard for Teegan and putting up with her she brought him back two carrots. She broke the first one in two, and placed her hand flat out in front of Dev, he easily manuvered his lips over her palm and took the carrot. She smiled at the gelding beside her and rubbed his forehead, he then pushed his head foreward and nosed at the pockets in her jeans, Greedily little thing aren't you, she said jokingly as she held out the other half of the carrot. She then slipped Dev's halter on and moved him into the aisle to place him on the closest set of cross-ties.
She began to curry over his paint coat, with balls of hair coming off every so often as all the horses were beginning to shed. She worked over his neck with the curry comb, and at the top of his neck she curried along under his mane and the gelding stretched out his neck and began to bob his head, You like that, boy? She giggled softly and worked the curry comb over the same spot before continuing over his coat.
