The Drought V.1
It was happening, finally. Mother Nature had been threatening an obscene injustice for many years and the tension had finally grown to be too much for her. The beginning of the end was this fall, the heavens tearing open and drenching the land without stopping for half a season - but then something even worse happened - it stopped. Without any warning the skies cleared, the cool air vanished and something even more dreadful than flood began: Drought. The dreadful story that had been passed down from generation to generation about a past deadly drought was happening.
The winter won't be so bad - the drought will keep the temperatures from reaching excruciating lows as it had the year past - but come spring, everything will change. Record highs, not seen since the drought from more than a century ago, hit - a lack of water will give the young creatures being born a slow start. But it isn't until summer that it gets really bad. Equines begin to die, and many are struck with a delirium that is caused by the lack of water and lush vegetation. And then something even more odd happened. A group of nomadic equines decided to wreck their terror on the dying lands of Galloping Free 2.
At the beginning of the Reisende's rampage upon the lands, many of the delirious equines thought that the herd was simply a figment of their imagination - but how wrong they were. Led by a ruthless master and mistress, their only goal in coming to the hot and dry lands of Galloping Free 2 was to rid one section of the world of the idiotic stable herds and replace it with their superior ideas about traveling herds.
Foals will be stolen and killed - leads challenged for a temporary home for the steadily growing nomadic herd. Mares will l be killed and stolen, all depending upon if the equines of the Reisende herd thought their minds were moldable. The future of Galloping Free 2 depends on two things, the drought and if the equines of Galloping Free 2 could band together and run off the nomds. Only one problem remains with running off the nomads - what about the few equines they had converted? Would they continue their ex-leaders legacies? Could Galloping Free 2 survive everything including the delirium from the drought and the mass masacres brught on by the nomads? Only time could tell.
