Jake couldn't help but grin at her for a moment before putting his eyes back on his driving task and the road in front of them, he smiled at the way she emphasized 'my bear' in her words. Then when Ashlynn accused him of calling her fat, he looked at her with an almost shocked experession on his face, I so did not call you fat! I meant.. that you are in no shape- as in your all bruised up and I'm sure when those painkillers wear off, your gunna be in a bit of pain, so I figure it's best that we stay in for the night. He explained; he would never call her fat; especially since she isn't. In all honesty in Jake's eyes this girl was perfect.
When Ashlynn leaned over into him, and kissed him on the neck and then whispered into his ear, 'who else would she have a sleepover with?' Jake, in all honesty got chills up his spine, being kissed on the neck was definitely one of his weaknesses. They finally reached the girls dormitory and Jake pulled up infront turning off the car, and Ashlynn got out by herself and said she was perfectly fine. He jumped out of the driver's side of the car; slamming the door behind him and swiftly locking the doors. He ran over to Ashlynn and said You definitely aren't okay- I think I'm still going to have to... he quickly scooped her up,arms protectively holding her and ran towards the dorm entrance ..carry you back! He said with a smile on his face, he then bent his head down and kissed her sweetly, before making his way down the hallway to her dorm room; where he'd found her earlier in the day. He pushed her dorm door open, and set her down once they were inside.
He didn't want to leave quite yet, but he was starving, he had to get some clothes if he was going to sleepover at Ashlynn's and Ashlynn would never know but he had a little surprise up his sleeve.
Ashlynn- I gotta head back to my dorm, for just a few minutes, and I think I should probably grab some food for the both of us too; you haven't eaten anything all day- He said stroking her hair and looking down into her blue eyes. I promise I won't be gone that long. He leaned his head down to kiss her softly, before resting his forehead with her's once again, then asked Is there anything in praticular you want to eat?  |

I wonder how many people never get the one they want
As Jake fumbled out an apology, she couldn't help but smile brightly. As she'd gotten out of the car, Jake quickly ran around around towards her and scooped her up in his arms, speaking as he did so. Giggling softly, she pressed her cheek against his arm and relaxed, closing her eyes as she attempted to contain her bursts of random giggles. Tilting her head up at him once they were inside and he'd set her down, she let her fingers trail along his jawline playfully. As he spoke, she let her lips feign a playfully disappointed pout. "Oh, fine. Hurry back," She murmured softly, leaning up to stand on her tip-toes to place several kisses on his lips. Her arms slipped around him in a hug, snuggling her body against his own almost as a kitten would.
'Is there anything in particular you want to eat?'
She leaned against him thoughtfully, still on her tiptoes as she kissed along the side of his neck. "Not particularly. Get whatever you want, love." Ashlynn murmured, a smile blazing across her lips. Sighing contently, she waited until he left, then she glanced down at her clothes with a frown. She was still wearing her clothes from earlier, and some specks of darker gray were on the front of the shirt; at least, in her eyes they were gray, but she assumed it to be blood. Quickly, she changed and flopped down on the love-seat that was set against the wall and slounged leisurely, closing her eyes as she waited for Jake to return.

Isn't he just the regular sweetheart?Jake wrapped his arms around Ashlynn, it felt good to just hold her their in his arms, he couldn't help but smile as she trailed her fingers over his jaw. Every moment that he'd spent with this girl had been one of the best times of his life, he had been smiling not stop when he was around her. Okay, he replied; saying that that she didn't want anything. Jake bent down and kissed her forehead quickly, before slipping out the door. Now I have to figure out how to plan this perfectly, mummbling to himself; more in his thoughts. Jake finally reached the doors of the girl's dormitory and pushed open the glass door, and jogged down to his car- parked at the curb, he quickly stuck the keys in the ignition then drove across campus back to the boys dormitory.
Jake couldn't help but laugh at his own thoughts, as he thought he'd dress up for the sleepover- and wear his pajamas and everything, he knew that Ashlynn would get a kick out of it. He swiftly changed into a pair of black athletic shorts, that he used a pajamas- and left the same t-shirt on from earlier in the day, then slipped his gym shoes back on, but also grabbed his mocasion like slippers, and his pillow. He then strolled down the boys dorm hall, getting a few wierd glances his way; as he carried a pillow and his slippers. He stopped at the vending machines stuffing in a few dollars- and getting a bag of chips and some cookies- plus a few bottles of water for Ash and him. After getting a few snacks for the two of them, Jake went back to the parking lot- and tossed his things in the passenger seat before closing the door and walking back into the campus park outside of the boys dorm. There were purple tulips, if he had looked at them correctly- at least he thought that's what type of flowers they were, he'd seen them everyday and now thought about them even more that he'd been hanging out with Ashlynn.
He carefully walked over to the well manicured plants and he gently pulled two of the flowers from the ground, making sure he got a good portion of the stem too. He then made his way back to his ford escape, and gently laid the flowers on the seat- making sure not to squish them. Jake finally got in the car and stuck the keys in the ignition. Then he pulled up to Ashlynn's dorm once more today, he pulled off his adidas sneakers, and stuck on his slippers. Then with black sharpie marker, in as neat of handwriting Jake could write in; he wrote out on a clean white sheet piece of computer paper, 'X' marks the spot.... with dots leading to the other side of the paper, which Jake then wrote on the otherside Ashlynn.. will you be my girlfriend?
Jake then picked up all of his things, piece of paper and flowers; plus his snacks and his pillow. He made his way into the girls dormitory and continued past Ashlynn's dorm and set all of his junk about 15 feet from her door, so that when he hid; she couldn't see him from the doorway. Jake set up the two purple flowers in a big 'X' in front of Ashlynn's door- then laid the small note on top. Jake knocked on her door a few times before jogging down the hall to his things, while he waited for Ashlynn to answer the door.

SOMETIMES I WISH I HAD NEVER MET YOU.
She stretched out on the couch lazily, running her hands across the arm of the couch, looking out of the window. Outside, a blue-jay perched outside on her windowsill, chirping steadily. At the sound of a couple knocks on her door, she jerked upright, sitting up straight. Her electric blue eyes blazed with glee and her smile blazed across her face and she slowly slipped off the couch, "Jake?" She murmured softly, and strode towards the door. Striding over to the door, she flung it open, hoping to see Jake. She frowned at the empty air in front of her and looked down on an impulse.
At her feet, she spotted the flowers criss-crossed to make a nearly flawless X and on top of those, was a note. Tilting her head, she smiled to herself and bent down, picking up the note and standing up straight once more. With a grin, she read it, eyes tracing the dots to the edge of the paper. Flipping over, she read 'Ashlynn.. will you be my girlfriend?' and was reduced to giddy giggles. Placing a hand over her mouth, she couldn't contain the infectious smile from leaping across her lips. Feeling like a child who'd just found her lost puppy, Ashlynn looked up with newfound jubilance and peered down either side of the hallway.
"The answer's hell yes." She called out with a soft laugh, dipping down once more to retrieve the two flowers. Slipping the note into the back pocket of her jeans for safe keeping, she closed her eyes momentarily to sniff the dainty flowers. She knew from previous experiences and conversations with others that this type of flower was purple. But of course, as usual, she saw it as a light shade of gray- more silver than anything. "They're beautiful, love." She murmured softly, Brooklyn-born accent came across thick when she was rather emotional, she knew but she couldn't help it. Her heart hammered and she waited for Jake to appear.
Once he did, she'd go to him like a bee to honey and throw her arms around the handsome teen and hug him tightly, showering him in affectionate kisses.

Jake heard the click of Ashlynn's door creaking open as she then looked down at the small display that Jake had created at her doorstep, a few moments later- he heard the ever so familar giggles of Ashlynn, that he loved. Jake gathered his things, and quitely walked down the fall away, and swiftly snuck his free arm around Ashlynn's waist, and gently whispered into her ear, I'm so glad you said yes, and I'm glad you like them. He kissed her neck gently, before turning her around in his arms and kissing her once more this time on the lips.
With his arm still wrapped around her waist; he spoke- laughter threathing to spill out at any moment, I'm all ready for this sleepover gesturing his other hand with his pillow and snacks, and then stuck out his foot with his ridiculous looking mocasion slippers. He knew that Ashlynn, would be in anothe giggle fit within minutes, and he couldn't help but smile, with a goofy lopsided grin on his face. He then pulled Ashlynn back into her dorm with him, so they were out chatting in the hallway- he then put his stuff down inside the door, and gently closed it behind him; he pressed a soft kiss on her forehead and looked down into those gorgeous blue eyes of hers. |

I wonder how many people never get the one they want
She laughed softly, nuzzling against his neck. "How could I resist my Teddy Bear?" She whispered softly. When his lips pressed to her neck, it elicited several chills that ran up and down her spine and she flushed, light crimson blazing across her pale cheeks. She cuddled into his arms and peered up at him as he stated he was ready for the sleep over and glanced down at his feet, giggling hysterically. "You look so silly." He gently maneuvered the two into the dorm and she glanced down at her own clothes, and giggled. "Well then, I look like the odd one out, eh?"
Giggling softly, she pressed her lips against his own. "Sorry about the lip-ring." She murmured apologetically to him, in case it felt strange against his own. It usually felt foreign to those who hadn't kissed someone with a lip piercing before. Flashing him a coy grin, she kissed along his jawline sweetly. "Close your eyes, love." Then, bumping her hip against his own in a playful gesture, she turned away - slipping momentarily out of his grasp, without truly waiting to see if he'd closed his eyes or not. Sauntering over to her dresser, she pulled out the top and fished out a pair of pajamas- they were fairly cute, hues of dark blue and dark and light shades of green.
Slipping off her other clothes and putting on the pajamas, "You can open your eyes now, if you aren't already," She murmured quietly with a soft laugh and turned around to face him, sidling closer and snuggling against him. "So, love, what do you want to do tonight?" A coy smile curled her lips upward, eyes bright.

 Jake laughed softly when Ashlynn said how she couldn't resist her teddy bear. When Ashlynn kissed him again, then apologized for the lip- ring, he hadn't even noticed it until she mentioned it. It's okay, where'd that come from? I didn't even notice that before, he said curiously. When she told him to close his eyes, he obeyed, closing his eyes tightly as Ashlynn slipped out of his grip for a moment. He couldn't help but peek for just a second as Ashlynn had already changed, Ashlynn told him he could open his eyes, and he walked over to her and snuggled her closely in his arms, before kissing her gently. You look so cute, he said softly with a smile, as he looked down at her blue and green pajamas.
He walked over the the couch slowly walked backwards with his arms still wrapped around Ashlynn, he then plopped onto her couch and pulled her down with him, so that she was sitting along side him. I don't know lovie, we could watch a movie; or play twenty questions- so I could get to know you better, unless you had something else in mind, he said placing a small kiss on her lips; before pulling away slightly and smiling at her.  |

When he questioned about where her lip-ring had came from, she gave a small smile, looking sheepish momentarily. "Can you believe I actually had it done when I was twelve? What can I say, I'm a total badass." She giggled playfully, winking at him as she returned to his arms once more. "Thanks, I couldn't have you looking sexier than me, now could I," She paused for a few fleeting moments, grinning to herself before concluding- "Baby?" Ashlynn murmured softly. The mere feel of the word on her lips, being spoken to Jake was enough to make her heart gallop wildly in her chest once more. As Jake began to walk backwards, his arms still securely around her slender waist, she giggled softly. "You're such a dork." The teen giggled playfully, staring up at him, her electric eyes alert and filled with adoration. Her look was one of sheer affection. She couldn't help but fall harder and harder for him with each passing moment.
As he tugged her down on the couch alongside him, she smirked playfully and wriggled onto his lap, placing her long and slender legs atop the arm of the loveseat and snuggling against his chest. "I have alot of things in mind, love, but I'm afraid some of them are considerably bad." Ashlynn giggled softly, whispering the words teasingly into his ear before resting her head on his chest, glancing at the blank wide screen tv before plucking the remote off the side of the couch. "We can always do both. You pick the movie, Bear." Running her tongue over her lipring momentarily, she concentrated on kissing along his neck with soft giggles, letting her breath dance against the side of his neck. "Ask me anything."

 When Ashlynn told him that she had gotten her lip ring done when she was only twelve, he questioned her and said You were only twelve? he said pulling her in a little closer, but it definitely is sexy he said murmmering in her ear, and kissed along her jaw; until he made his way to her lips and kissed her once more. But I'm afraid some of them are considerably bad, he couldn't help but smile at her then he pressed kisses on her forehead, and kissed her on the lips too. He's sure they could find a million things to do tonight; but he wasn't totally ready to be doing anything to bad with her tonight- besides they hadnt even been dating, what an hour.
As she snuggled with him on the couch, and sat in his lap on the couch, he couldn't help but smile at her; then he kissed the top of her head. How 'bout a scary one? He said teasing her, he loved being able to just hold her.
Jake ran his fingers over her hair, and smiled at her, he played with a strand of her hair before asking with a raised eyebrow, anything? he thought for hard moment, Are you sure? he paused for a moment, then continued and spoke on a more serious note, Ash.. why was your ex really here earlier today? And why in god's name did he hurt you like that? Jake asked her. Jake ran his fingers over the length of her arm, and back up then looked deep into her blue eyes. |

She nodded in response to his inquiry and sighed contently as he trailed kisses along her jaw until he reached her lips, pressing hers to his own eagerly returning each and every one of his kisses. As he mentioned watching a scary movie, she grinned deviously. "Only if you promise not to get scared and cry." She countered with ease, laughing softly. Snuggling against him, she watched him as he quirked a single eyebrow at her. Tilting her head, she grinned as he spoke. "Yes, darling, anything- I don't mind." She assured him softly, waiting for the inquiry to come. Leaning back against his chest, she waited for him to turn on a movie- or ask her a question, whichever came first.
'Are you sure?' He murmured and she laughed softly, nodding slowly. "Yes, love, I'm one hundred percent, completely sure." However, the question he asked wasn't exactly what she'd expected and inwardly she winced, but placed a smile across her face, though it was easy to see it was a bit sad. "Addison.. he used to do that all the time. When we lived together. He's a drug dealer. He's.. out of his mind. I used to need him like I needed.. my next fix." She sighed softly, closing her eyes. She didn't want to tell him the truth in all honesty, she wanted to spit more lies than she could think of at this moment. But she couldn't lie to him. She absolutely refused, and in all honesty, she doubted if she could bring herself to it. "When.. my life went downhill, I got into the wrong crowds, ... and I met Addison. He was everything a girl could want. On the surface. But underneath, he's just a dog. A waste of breath, really." Pausing, she frowned and Ashlynn opened her eyes, watching him carefully for his reaction.
This was what she'd been fearing all along. Revealing bits and pieces of her past to him. He'd go away now and leave her, she knew it- it was what she now anticipated as she continued speaking, "I got.. involved with drugs and other things. He made me think I needed him. He's out of his damned mind. My only guess is that he somehow heard about us hanging out and freaked out. He's insanely jealous. But he's gone now." Adverting her eyes quickly, she stared down at her bare feet forlornly for a moment. Then, swallowing hard, she let a tiny smile slowly spread across her face. "A question for a question, love." She wouldn't let Addison control her - not anymore. She had Jake now, and she was slowly realizing she needed him about as much as humans need trees.
"What's your full name?" She murmured softly, looking almost sheepish to ask the question. But she couldn't help it, she was compelled by an intense urge to know absolutely everything about him. From his favorite color to his least favorite food- she wanted to know every tiny detail. Kissing along the side of his face, she let her kisses trail down to his neck, kissing him there gently- nipping the flesh slightly. Once he'd answered, she'd purr out softly, "Next question, Bear."
She was falling in love.

 Jake smiled at her, and when she said that they could watch a scary movie, as long as he didn't get scared and cry, he put a small puppy dog look upon his face; and looked into her deep blue eyes and said Okay, I'll try not too; he teased kissing her lightly. Jake listened closely after he asked Ashlynn about her past with Addison, it was almost painful to listen to her talk about Addison doing that to her all the time. When she finished talking of how Addison was a drug dealer and that he was out of his freakin' mind. Jake listened closely to ever word of Ashlynn's and when she was finished talking, he stroked her hair lightly, and softly whispered to her I'm sorry Ash.. he kissed her softly then procedded on with saying Nobody deserves to be treated like that, especially not someone as beautiful as you, He told her, meaning every word of it.
'A question for you love,' she told him next, Okay, shoot; you can ask me anything you want he said with a smile resting over his lips; as he looked down admiringly at Ashlynn who was laying in his arms. What's your full name? he smiled at her then leaned his head down to kiss her forehead, My full name is Jacob Patrick Ellison, he told her, it feel ackward, speaking his name like that; he'd always just gone by Jake or at times by his football team mates he was called Ellison.
My turn for a question, huh? he said with with a smile and a playfully raised eyebrow, What's your absolute favorite food? He asked her; smiling. He waited a few moments for her to reply before he picked her and laid her on the couch and asked .....And are you tickilish?! he teased kissing her neck, then softly tickling her stomach, not wanting to cause any pain that she might still have from the crazy earlier events of the day. He ticklied her for a few minutes more, as he held all of his own weight above her; not wanting to squish her, ha. But then he hovered his lips over hers and said, your turn for a question, lovie he said with a smile and kissed her. Then pulled her up into his lap again. |

She laughed softly as he apologized, though she obviously didn't mean it in a mean way. She smiled, nuzzling her face against the side of his neck. "Only you could look at me and say that, Bear." She murmured, her lips pressing against his own as she spoke. As he mentioned his full name, she couldn't help but to crack a wide smile that spread contagiously across her face. "Aww. That's so cute." She murmured, snuggling into his arms. "Mine's Ashlynn Skylar Cortez. Such a mouthful, eh?" Licking her lips, she peered thoughtfully at him as he asked her what her favorite food was.
Before she could answer, he picked her up and laid her on the couch, kissing her neck with a teasing comment. As he tickled her stomach, she couldn't help but kick and squeal like a small child. Batting his hands away playfully, she peered up at him with a grin. "Pizza," Ashlynn giggled softly, laughing quietly. "But I'm allergic to pepperoni, so I only eat cheese." To her, this night seemed almost perfect, save for the earlier incident that'd landed her in the hospital. Just sitting on the couch with him, trading seemingly meaningless information - this was sheer perfection in the short teen's eyes.
"I'm sure you already realized- I'm quite ticklish." Next, her eyes adverted, staring at the tv as she cuddled against his chest, curled like an oversized kitten on his lap. "Tell me five things no one knows about you," She paused, grinning playfully at him. Then, a thoughtful look passed over her porcelain features, glancing up at Jake. "Have you ever cheated on someone you were dating?" When she asked this, she began to nibble on her lower lip thoughtfully, a pensive expression poised on her face.

 Mine's Ashlynn Skylar Cortez. Ashlynn told him; a smile rested on his lips as he kept his brown eyed gaze on Ashlynn. Jake smiled again at Ashlynn as she told him that her favorite food was pizza, but only with cheese because she was allergic to pepperoni. Mental note; ashlynn's allergic to pepperoni, jJake wrote in his mind; for any further refrences. Jake loved pizza too; he would pretty much eat any type of pizza, but he definitely preferred just plain cheese over them all. He'd never had this much fun with a girl before; any girl he'd been with before, they only wanted him for his looks obviously; none of them had ever taken the time to ask questions, to get to know him more like this, that's what he loved about Ashlynn.
Jake's eyes danced across Ashlynn's face as she giggled and kicked at him while he tickled her, the way she laughed just lit up his entire world. 'Tell me five things no one knows about you,' were Ashlynn's next words; he had to the think for a few moments Five things no one knows about me...hmmm.. Jake said thinking outloud. Well for one; I love to dance, he couldn't help but laugh at himself; he'd never told anyone that, except now for Ashlynn. hmmmm, whatelse..? He looked at her and smiled again- then he traced his fingers along her jawline; and took her face in his hands and kissed her again. Then spoke; Ohh this is a big one; he said, like a lightbulb went off in his head- Something absolutely no one knows, not even my siblings or my parents, but my parents expect me & my brothers to take over the family horse business when were older; but it's not what I want to do with my life.. he told her. He'd never spilled that to anyone- he'd always been afriad of rejection, or his parents would completely disagree with him.
He thought deeper for a few more moments before pulling out No one really knows, but I'm closer to my sister than my older brothers; we just understand eachother, he told her. He couldn't really think of anything else that nobody knew about him. Ashlynn's next question him in the chest; he hated talking about it; because he so desperately wanted to push his past actions away. That was the old Jake- the popular, jocky egotistic jake, who only cared about himself. Yes, he'd cheated before; but he regrets it more than anything. Jake used to be so influenced by his football jock friends, and he admitts he often gave into the peer pressures of them, and how they treated girls; by cheating so he did too.
But Jake wanted more than anything to start over, coming to Canterbury would give him the chance to show people the real him, the real jake that loved sitting on the couch with his girlfriend and they could talk about silly stuff, watch movies or just hang out, like him and ashlynn were doing right now. He looked Ashlynn in the eyes- he didn't want to lie to her; so he took a deep breath before beginning, and he began with the truth- he could never lie to her. Ashlynn.. yes; I've cheated on a few people before. He told her painfully- he didn't want her to automatically hate him for what he'd done in the past. But you don't know how much I regret doing it, I was such a jerk back then; He laughed slightly as he took Ashlynn's hand in his and laced his fingers around hers before continuing, Since coming to canterbury, I've really found myself; and who I am- i'm not the cocky, egomaniac jock I was before when my buddies pressured me into everything. he looked at Ashlynn for a reaction to the words that had just poured out of his mouth.
But Ashlynn, I've never felt this way about anyone in my entire life; you don't know how much fun I'm having just sitting her and be able to talk and get to know you, He told her, then kissed her softly, as in making a promise that he would never cheat on her, she's suffered so much; that he could never cheat on her and have to put her through anymore pain than her life has already endurded her.
So Ms. Ashlynn I think it's time for you to spill too, your turn to tell me five things no one knows about you, he said playfully to her; kissing her once again. Jake peered just beyond Ashlynn to look out the window it was already pitch black outside; how long had they been up? Was it late, time really does fly when you are having such and amazing time with an amazingly beautiful girl. |

THE STARS SHINE SO MUCH BRIGHTER WITH YOU AROUND
To be honest, Ashlynn wasn't used to this. The serenity and simplicity of this moment here with Jake. With Addison, or any other guy she'd ever dated, they'd have their hands all over and talking would be the last thing on their minds. But Jake, he was different. To a girl who couldn't even see the color of the sun- he was perfect. He was perfect in every way she wasn't. Or so she thought. Wrapping her arms securely around his neck, she sighed happily, unable to concentrate on whatever was on the television now. She snuggled against him as he spoke, her heart like a jackhammer inside her chest.
'Something absolutely no one knows, not even my siblings or my parents, but my parents expect me & my brothers to take over the family horse business when were older; but it's not what I want to do with my life.' When he'd said this, she felt a slow smile spread across her pale features and laughed softly. Placing a smooth hand on the side of his face, tapping her fingers against his cheek gently. "They'll understand. They love you, I'm sure. You don't need to force yourself to mold to their expectations anyway- be who you are, baby, don't change." Now, she flashed a small smile at him.
He now appeared thoughtful, and she couldn't help but giggle softly to herself at his expression. He looked entirely serious and pensive for several moments before mentioning he was closer to his sister. Nodding slowly in understand, she tilted her head back, staring up at the ceiling thoughtfully. "Yeah, darling, I know exactly what you mean." She murmured softly, tipping her head back to it's normal position as he began speaking once more, in response to her second question. As he began speaking, she immediately began to push her teeth into her lower lip instinctively. She was terribly nervous at what he'd say.
Her eyes, which were lined in dark Kohl, stared at him impassively. She remained silent, sensing he had more to say and once smiled slightly at him as he took her hand in his own and interlocked their fingers with one another. She looked down at their hands and smiled. 'I'm not the cocky, egomaniac jock I was before when my buddies pressured me into everything.' She glanced up at him now, feeling a another smile curl her lips upward - now this expression felt familiar on her face. She pressed her lips against his quickly before he could speak anymore and laughed softly, "You're still a cocky jock." She murmured playfully, flashing him a broad smile.
Her eyes rose to meet his own, her stare electric with the emotions coursing through-out her entire body at this given point in time. She could scarcely control her out of whack heart, as it seemed to want to implode in sheer and utter glee. "No sweat, Bear, after all, if we weren't meant for one another-" She tilted her head, giving him a kiss on the lips gently. "Then why does my hand fit yours perfectly?" She murmured, closing her eyes momentarily. Until Jake, she honestly didn't give a damn about anyone, really. But now. He was starting to make her believe in a lot of things again. Love, was one, and fate was the other. Because, with him at her side - could she really deny that they seemed to be perfect for one another?
'So Ms. Ashlynn I think it's time for you to spill too, your turn to tell me five things no one knows about you.' At that, she opened her eyes to peer at him, regarding Jake contemplatively. Her tongue slipped past her lips, to run over them in thought, a pensive expression claiming a place atop her facial features. "I've got a complete irrational fear of the Cookie Monster.." Immediately, she paused. Giving him a goofy, half-smile. "Don't you dare tell anyone, either."
"I'll lie my ass off if I know I can get away with it, but I've lied so well and so often- sometimes even I believe it. But love, honestly, I don't think I could lie to you." A smile slid atop Ashlynn's face as she paused, long enough to shower him in numerous kisses before continuing. "I never hang up on the phone first, I refuse to.." She paused, once more, giggling softly. "I'm scared that if I do, something will happen and they'll die and that'll have been the last time I ever talked to them, and I hung up on them. Silly, huh? I'm terrified that I'll die before I get to tell the person I love all I want to say." At that, she looked at him shyly with a tiny smile.
"And last but certainly not least.." She began to murmur, her lyrical voice lacerated with fatigue as she closed her eyes once more, placing a single kiss on his lips, then another on his neck. She cuddled into his lap, pulling her knees closer to her body to almost curl against him. Then, just before she began to doze off, her conclusion to the sentence slipped from her lips, falling like rain on a rooftop.
"I'm falling in love with a boy named Jake."

 When Jake heard Ashlynn recite the words of: they'll understand. They love you, I'm sure. You don't need to force yourself to mold to their expectations anyway- be who you are, baby, don't change. He couldn't help but smile at her, he'd never really thought of it in that way, but she was right, he grinned at her for a moment then kissed her sweetly.
Jake then just sat their for awhile, he figured they wouldn't watch a movie tonight; Jake was having way to much fun just being able to sit and talk and get to know Ashlynn, they he didn't care they didn't have a chance to watch a movie. When Ashlynn's next words came, and she said, No sweat, Bear, after all, if we weren't meant for one another- then why does my hand fit yours perfectly? Just at the the thought of the two teens being meant for eachother gave gave butterflies in his stomach; and he couldn't help but smile down at the beautiful teen perched in his lap.
Once he'd asked Ashlynn for her to spill five things no one knew about her, he leaned back into the couch, with Ashlynn snuggled close to him, he listened closely and intently as Ashlynn's harmonious voice rang in his ears. Don't you dare tell anyone, either, ashlynn threatened him with; after spilling to him that she had a fear of the cookie monster, Jake couldn't help but a laugh softly and then kissed the top of her head; and locked his lips with a imaginary key- and threw it away; showing to Ashlynn his lips were sealed and he wasn't going to tell anyone. Ashlynn's next secret of she lied often to people; but annouced to Jake that she could never lie to him, his heart jumped for a moment with happiness, he was glad that ashlynn wasn't going to have to lie to him.
Before Ash told him her last secret, he could tell she must've been pretty tired, as her eyes were drifting closed, and she was completely curled up against Jake he couldn't help but smile as he looked admiringly down at her; he stoked his fingers over her hair for a few moments; before she released her last few words before falling asleep, ' I'm falling in love with a boy named Jake.'
At that moment, Jake's heart skyrocketed in his chest, and a big sloppy grin was plastered over his face, and it couldn't help but send butterflies to his stomach; at her words. He'd never been happier than at this moment here. Jake could tell that Ashlynn was drifting farther into sleep as her breathing came in slow even breaths as she lay in his arms. Jake watched her sleep contently for a few minutes before whispering in her ear; It just so happens that I think I'm falling in love with someone named Ashlynn. The he kissed her forhead, and set his arm around her back and under her kness; for about the tenth time today- he hoisted himself and Ashlynn in his arms off the couch for a moment. Jake then turned around and laid Ashlynn gently on the couch, and kissed her forehead. He then moved away from her momentarily to go retrive the blanket off her bed and a pillow for her to sleep on. Jake also plucked his pillow off the ground and went back to the couch with Ashlynn.
He turned off all the lights in her dorm except the one along side the couch, then plopped himself down on one end next to Ashlynn's head; and leaned the pillow against him- and gently set ash's head their so she could sleep peacefully. Then not wanting her to get cold; he covered her with the blanket from her bed. Finally jake clicked off the television and tucked his own pillow behind his head, and stroked Ashlynn's hair and then leaned down gently and kissed her goodnight, the turned out the light and left them in pure darkness. Jake soon drifted off into a restful night's sleep.

The next morning came quickly Jake still stirred in his sleep, and he woke up with his pillow on the floor, his hair an absolute mess and his feet sprawled out, as he woke groggily; to see Ashlynn laying beside him gently. He kissed her on top of her head momentairly before leaning over the arm of the couch to retrive his pillow he then leaned against in doesed off to sleep once more. |
